| MoD Returns
By MoD Yes; I know what youre thinking. In dear old Linda Danes' will, she admitted to being the person we all know and love. MoD. I have been looking around the Hunting MoD clubs, and she was indeed right, no one ever knew who she was, although I will commend a few Gryffindors who were on the trail. But dear old Linda managed to throw them off. But when I read her farewell a few issues back I was heartbroken. What would the Owl Gazette be without MoD? Yes I know there are others, but MoD was the one who started it all, and the most well know name around PADs next to the Headmistress herself. With MoD gone things wouldnt be the same. But I should tell you now; Linda is not back from the dead. I have made a major decision and am going to continue the noble work of MoD. I was nosing around, and managed to find some interesting information. That you lot would miss MoD. Yes indeed, the people who worked so hard to expose MoD would actually miss the monthly writings. I asked Rose Wick of Gryffindor a few questions:- MoD: How long have the two of you known about MoD? RW: I've known about MoD since the first day I read the Owl Gazette, which was on my third or fourth day at PADs. MoD: So Rose, youre pretty new, did you ever try to find out MoD's identity? RW: Yes, I most certainly have... and I have a pretty good idea about who it is. *coughCurrentOwlGazettecough* MoD: So how would you feel if the MoD writings stopped? RW: I'd miss them. They're funny and sarcastic, and quite ironic, if you go back and read them if you converse with a person they're about. I'm not quite sure that made sense... but hey. So as you can see, my point is proved. But what now? What am I going to do about it? Well, since you ask, I am going to fill the gap. I imagine there will be many theories, on the Bulletin Board and in the Common Rooms, asking the well know question, Who is MoD? Well, you may try, but I am well hidden. You will not find out who I am, and I will know if you do. Remember, MoD has eyes everywhere! |

| The Nicknaminator's Return
By Kiley Blaire So; I've been pretty quite with the nicknames until very recently. I could weave a tragic tale about my creativity being ruthlessly captured by the evil monster that is real life, but it would only be a flimsy excuse. But fear not, Hogwarts. Your Nicknaminator is back and better than ever, and I'm ready to give a new wave of students their new identities. And if you thought the originals were bad (Tofu, Razzy, PopTart, Junkette), just wait until you see some of my new creations. My own house, Slytherin, has been particularly hard hit by my recent rash of nicknaming ideas. Lily Valeriana, for example, is now known as Banana. And Lyra Sylvertongue and Gred Weasley are respectively known as Goldie and Locks. And the fun doesn't end there. The next time you see newbie Oriana Bloom wandering the halls, make sure to give her a shout with her new nickname: Orli-poo. |

| What it means to be a Crane
By Masi Mae All I can say, is I got in the best house for me. I wouldn't trade anybody in our house. They usually have time to talk if anyone needs to. We have a lot of creative people in there; we joke and tease a lot. We have lots of hugs for those who need one, even Sammy. I wouldn't trade Professor Mom for anything. She is always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. She stayed up with me when I had a fever and I thought she was a demon. Her soothing voice relieves my fears and she always seems to be in tears. I don't think we could love her any more. Sam has has helped me with my homework when I just didn't get it and was about to give up on it all. Ava has talked to me about my problems, Bry has kept me from getting in fights, Mar has given me hot chocolate to warm me. Faith makes me laugh until I cry. Hootie has given me support when I was low. I could just go on and on, but I can't. I'll be a crane until I die. |

| Hufflepuff Hunk Speaks Out
Daphne Dawlish Daphne: So I've heard talk around the castle that you've had a lot of girlfriends... do you have one right now? Kamron: At the moment no but I do know someone likes me Daphne: Really? That's nice. Would you like to name any names? Kamron: Well I have been with our Head girl but I had to break her heart sadly. And there are a few more Daphne: What sort of girls are you usually in to? Kamron: Well it really depends on if they like what I like and many other things there not really one sort I like Daphne: What are your interests? Kamron: Besides Quidditch I just like to hang out and have some fun Daphne: What would make a girl Kamron flame date material? Kamron: Ohh, thats a good question I would just say fun to be with maybe smart, pretty I guess its about whats on the inside so they would have to a good personality funny a kind of Daphne: So whats with this rumor I hear about you and ade/maya/Zoey Kamron: Just a little bit of a joke at the moment I dont really for sure like anyone...But I can say that someone had caught my eye once or twice Daphne: Would you like to give a little more detail? About whos catching your eye nowadays? Kamron: I guess I could say something about it most of the people I do like are in my very own house theres a rare chance there not and thats about all I can say Daphne: So what is this about you hinting that Zoey Taylor is yours? Kamron: Thats between me and Ronnie Daphne: I guess that all boils down to an in house joke? Kamron: Pretty much Daphne: I've heard very good things about you in your Quidditch matches. Sort of the Huff Quidditch hunk? Kamron: Wow you have done some research on me I see yes from time to show off during a match and Im a "Hunk" I guess to some people so I would say that some may have called me that time I start to Daphne: Would you ever think about going pro? Kamron: Well if someone came to Hogwarts looking for a student to go pro I maybe would become pro I wouldnt want to just leave Huff Quidditch team like that I mean they need me Daphne: How about after you are done with school? Any aspirations for the future? Well, that or maybe a model. Kamron: Well After Im done at Hogwarts I will try and get into one of the more Higher up wizard schools and keep on playing Quidditch in my spare time and I dont believe I could become a model at least not yet Daphne: Well from what all the girls say you have a good shot. Kamron: I would like to ask you a question if I may... Daphne: Go ahead, ask away. Kamron: Where did you get all your information from? Daphne: Well Kamron, that's the thing about being a reporter, I have my secrets too. Kamron: Ahh, well then on with the interview Daphne: Is there a special girl you might want to send out a message to? Declare your feelings for, maybe? Kamron: I wouldnt want to say it in a interview but you may find who I like soon enough Daphne: I think that's all for this interview. Thank you for your time and good luck on the girl. Kamron: Yes it was a great interview |

| Avin Lucinda Holmes Trip and Return
By Avin Lucinda Holmes About a year ago I was forced to leave the school by my parents. My fathers work in antiquities required him to move to America and my mother wanted to take me along for the "experience". I didnt go willingly but then again, who would want to leave this place? Our journey started by aeroplane ride to an airport in New York City. NYC as the local Muggles call it, is a noisy and bustling place full of automobiles and something called a cab. It appears to be a transportation device similar to our Knight Bus although travel is frightfully slow and all of the drivers honk the horns incessantly. My family settled in near the Salem Witches Institute but my mother refused to contaminate my learning by letting me attend there. By her choice I was home tutored by her and my father, as my mother said To ensure I was learning properly. Upon our return, my parents insisted that I be resorted. Their reasons were vague, but they never tell me anything so that is no surprise. I was sorted into Slytherin which seemed to make them happy. I must say that I am very happy with my new house. The students and prefects seem to be an outstanding group of people and Professor Snape surely has much for me to learn. Upon my entry they have embraced me as part of the family. All in all, it was a nice trip but it sure feels good to be home! |

| House Pride
By Summer Members of each and every house of Hogwarts have house pride. I certainly have pride for my house of Ravenclaw. Whenever a fellow Raven says our motto "Fly High Breathe Deep", it shows house pride. Whenever fellow Ravens come and cheer us on in Quidditch matches that show house pride. Whenever we welcome new Ravens, it shows house pride. Whatever we do, it shows house pride. House pride is certainly something that is contagious. Almost immediately after I had been sorted into Ravenclaw, I had a sense of pride for being sorted and welcomed into this great house. I had gone from being neutral with no preference to a particular house, to becoming a true Ravenclaw in all ways. I'm sure that every one of you feels this way, no matter which house you have been sorted into. You just find that sense of pride waiting for you there. |
