Well, April sure has been a busy month for Hufflepuff. To start off, Hufflepuff and Slytherin are having their very first point brawl against each other. Of course, we�ll win, so we�ll get to dress Professor Snape up. The brawl will last until May 20th. There�s still plenty of time of course. I�m confident that Hufflepuff will win this brawl hands on, even if it kills them. Just kidding. Not really.
Second, the prefects and prefect assistants have been fooling with each others siggies. (Mostly Ron Weasley�s). But, Ron has retaliated every time they�ve changed his avi or siggie by putting crude, but yet funny things in there siggies involving Ron Weasley. From things like �I wish I was as cool or Ron Weasley� or many other famous phrases. They sure are to become a one hit single soon. Anyway�
And third, everyone in Hufflepuff would like to make a warm welcome for all the April Hogwarts joiners. These include the following�.Alley RoeFinnigan, Caffine, Purple Platypus, and Vaughan. Hope you guys are enjoying Hogwarts so far.

Over the past few weeks in Hufflepuff we have been working hard on getting new ideas to help keep new students around, working on several new shops, such as �Sweet Tooth,� �EsSCENTials,� �The Elemental Faction� all of which can now be found in the various Hufflepuff Co-Ops. We�ve also got several more stores in the works so look for them to come out soon. And we�ve been having a celebration in the common room since we have finally managed to win a Quidditch game, and all the while working on getting points to hold our second place position in the house cup standings. We�ve also taken the house of Slytherin up on a Point-a-Thon challenge and are determined to win.

Hufflepuffs have been earning points like crazy in our monthly Badger Point Brawls! We work hard doing as much as we can for our beloved house, but in the end, there is only one winner.
The winner of the Point Brawl for April is once again our senior prefect, Zoey Taylor! Zo is on a winning streak having also been our March winner. She racked up 2250 points this month and shows no sign of slowing down! She will receive another 25 Galleons from Professor Lockhart�s Gringott's vault! Don't worry folks, he can afford it! Congratulations again Zo; the Hufflepuffs are proud!
Next month, we take our point brawl down to the BB for a friendly competition against our neighboring Slytherins. Brawl on Badgers! And good luck Slytherin!

So, what�s been going on this past month? Gryffindor has not been lazy, that�s clear. In fact, we had some things going on in our house, such as our Monster Point-a-Thon, where our house was divided into different groups who posted their hearts out to claim victory for themselves. For this Post-a-Thon, Professor Opal decided to give out some �special treat� for the top 5 individual posters, and the winning group. In the end, the different members were either surprised, confused, or completely shocked by this special treat, as Professor Opal went ahead and added a little crown on all the winner�s heads, however, in Gawyn Crossguard�s case, he finally got a face, even if it is only his well deserved crown.
During this crazy posting event, our dear Hermy Granger was able to celebrate 2 k�s, and is now known to be on the chase after the Prefect Assistant, Gawyn. But he claims himself safe, as he has lots of teasing and supporting girls as a backup. We believe in you Gawyn! Go, Go Gawyn, Go!
Last not least, our House Club section seems to come back to life as more and more clubs are started and revamped in the Lion�s Den. With the return of Elizabeth, the Doll club has been brought back to life, but the girl also started a new game there, where we students can pick one character of the Harry Potter book to�well, that�s a secret. Last not least, Roxanne Whitez has decided to resurrect the Quidditch Support Club, and at the looks of it, the Lions will roar loudly on the next Quidditch match. � With such support.
So be scared of what the crazy Lions will plot next�it can only mean fun.

With another month coming and passing with rapid speed, Gryffindor House would like to take some time to slow down and welcome the new lions to our precious den. Already these new students are already seeing why we all say that Hogwarts (and Gryffindor) are the place to be by receiving warm greetings and wishes from their fellow students, plus lots of help and advice. We're sure these students will enjoy their time here and begin to think of our school as a home away from home.
So, without further adieu, welcome to Yuwe Doloresa, Myles Potter, Faye, Gryffindor Black, and Harry Potter Jr. We also wish to welcome Elizabeth back home!

This well-known smilie good friends with Laughter (you know the :neener: smiley) is becoming an instant celebrity, or at least in the Gryffindor House. You see, in the month or less since Hermy Granger and Rose Wick practically started their own Spam topic entitled Fred, it has received over 1000 posts and 40-some pages. He was even made a banner, which was posted for the 1000th post, made by Rose Wick. 1000 post may not seem like quite an accomplishment, but it's great for a smiley!

Gryffindor has decided to spill the beans, or at least, spill their minds, in the common room. A new sort of topic has become so popular that they are being posted in more frequently than the games! It would seem each student, and even Professor Opal, has created a topic for the ramblings of their minds. Currently, 12 of us have a topic for our minds, and some even have over 400 posts! Some topics are being kept active even when the student isn't around, thanks to the random talking of the active ones. Even the names are creative. Here are the names we all came up with:
Opal's Own Unique Ramblings, Kristin's Frame of Mind, From the Mind of Fi, Audrea's Ambient Atmosphere, My Laughter (Rox), Hil's Place, Kimmie's Kingdom, Adam's Mad Science Lab, The Stephie Smile, Rorie's World Thing�, My Mind! (Hermy), Krum's Non-Complicated Mind, and one called Fred for the hyper smiley created by our own Hermy (which makes 13).
Some topics get 1 word posts, some get long posts, others just get smilies. Whatever is posted, Gryffindor has gone crazy, as have their minds!

This month in the RCR, Head Boy Cedric has brought back a favorite pastime of the Ravens by first posting previous productions of this event. Ravens new and old took a look. Those old got to recollect those fun memories and times back then. The new wanted to participate and make memories of their own.
Of course, the new Ravens got the chance to do so when Cedric opened a topic exclusively for this pastime and so far, it has turned out to be quite amusing. Both new and old Ravens are currently taking part in this and will be added to the collection we have so far.
What you may be wondering is, 'What is this pastime she's talking about?' Well, that's for us to know, and for you to try to find out.

Last month, we experienced the 'Raven Boom'. This month, the number of new Ravens is somewhat consistent compared to the month before. Perhaps this is a new growth trend in the Ravenclaw Common Room. We shall see.
This month, we became the nest for many new Ravens. We'd like to say another big welcome for: Ravenclaw321, Magicjoe333, Makenna Zeller, Christanna-Marie Matthews, Katrina Helmsley, parikhdp, Jane Wondering, KiraBlack, random_rose32, Beatrice Eisenheim, Pierce Colbat, lunacheyennemilford, Ron Lupin, Paris Moonlight, Lylia Lesla, and ron8430.
With the increase of Ravens, we have recruited one new addition to our mentor program: Hagrid Black! He is currently mentoring Paris Moonlight and Lylia Lesla.
Will next month also continue this growth trend, or shall it drop? We'll know in a month's time.

These past weeks, Ravenclaw has seen glimpses of Ravens whom we have missed dearly. The charming Cho Chang was spotted in the Common Room after a long absence and has wasted no time in welcoming the new students, and joining in house activities. We are definitely glad to be able to see more of her now.
And just this past week, one girl has been spotted making her way back to the Common Room. Guess who this is? Of course, it's the lovely Penny Hung! Wherever she has gone, we are most certainly glad to see her back.
As the term comes to an end, we hope to welcome back all the Ravens who have taken a leave of absence during the term.

It's actually a funny thing. There hadn't been talk about hosting Ravenclaw's Dance Fever for any time soon, that is, until the very last days of March where the idea just sprung up, and within a short, yet busy week, the Ravens had planned the Easter Dance.
Hagrid put together the webpage, and was the DJ of the Easter Dance. Myrrima chipped in with some great decorations and games. Andela composed the lyrics of The Bunny Song, which was then sung by Olive. It was indeed a tricky song to master, and Andela also made the animation to go along with the song. Will helped out by researching up on the history of Easter to give everyone a better idea of the event. At the Easter Dance itself, we started off with PAD making a short speech, and the dance kicked off soon after the Ravens performed the Bunny Dance to go along with the Bunny Song, which was choreographed by our very own Andela. Now, what did I do? I did the banner of the dance, and helped with technical difficulties. The rest of the Ravens helped by coming to the dance and helping out with any last minute touches and preparations.
We all had a great time organizing this event, and we taught each other new things. Hopefully, in the near future, Ravenclaw can organize another event like such.

Penshire is hopping �again! We have welcomed many new students and things are really jumping in the CR. The place that has had a major rebirth is the games section. We had a point-a-thon in the beginning of the month and Faith won with over 3200 points!! Way to go!! In fact the whole house really worked hard to keep the lead. We are still in first place and still working hard. Quidditch starts again soon and Penshire is hoping to secure the Quidditch Cup with the House Cup. We are currently having a Post-a-thon and everyone is mad posting to boost our house numbers. All I can say is look for Penshire to be number one. How wonderful that a NEW house can achieve such GREATNESS in such little time! :D
The month April has been extremely successful for Penshire house. A two week Point-A-Thon wasn�t only a huge success, but racked over 10,000 points for our house. That should hopefully put the cranes in an even farther advantage. Our house has worked incredibly hard all term to keep up our standard in first place for the House Cup that we are definitely not going to give it away that easily -- if at all. Nine new Crafty Cranes have joined our fantastic house: Cameron Adams, Caratacus Whalen, Josh North, Majors, and Ember Ezel. All of those lovely people have begun posting around in the common room and have familiarized themselves with the rest of the house.
Currently, there is an ongoing Post-A-Thon that is already showing some great success. I'm not going to share any more detail for the first time. You cannot know too much about us, now can you? LOL! Our next math against Ravenclaw is this month and they are the only team stopping us from being undefeatable. Will Penshire pull through and not only claim the Quidditch Cup, but can say they are undefeated? I think they can. But, I suppose you will not find out unless you actually attend the match. Which you should definitely do. That's all for this month!

Penshire would like to recognize one of our newer students Morty Brewster as this month�s Penshire of the Month. Morty joined in December and has been making his presence known every since. He is an active poster. He also writes articles for the Owl Gazette and The Wizard Digest. He is a member of the Writing/Poetry Club. Thank you Morty for doing so much to make our house a great place to be!! Congratulations you are this months Penshire of the Month!!

It seems that even with the end of term coming, there is no lack of new students in the house of Slytherin. Some old friends have returned and some new friends have arrived, and we would like to take a moment to introduce each of them to the school.
The month of April got off to a great start with the addition of Ginny Malfoy. She has been active in the Common Room and has been seen playing games and chatting with her fellow snakes. There is no doubt that Ginny belongs in Slytherin and we can already tell that she is a great addition to the house.
Next to arrive was Ark Valentine. With just her introduction she made it clear to everyone that she was going to fit right in and she has been quite active, ever since. She is friends with long time Slytherin, Gabby Murphy and the two have made quite a team and are frequently seen in the common room having fun.
Lyra Slyvertongue made her entrance in the month of April, as well. Her blue hair and her Slytherin-like attitude have once again proven that the Sorting Hat seems to know his stuff. Lyra has already begun making friends and the people that have met her, thus far, are sure to never forget her. This girl leaves quite an impression on those she meets!
Rounding out the month for new arrivals is Oriana Bloom. Oriana has already joined the Snape Fan Club, has been active in the games and chit-chat, and again, there in no way we can imagine the house of Slytherin without her.
Much to our enjoyment, a few old friends have re-appeared after taking a leave for various reasons. Kelsey Nevaeh stopped by for a visit, taking advantage of a break at school to come by and spend sometime with her friends. Kelsey has been a member of Slytherin for almost 2 years now, and it is wonderful to see her smiling face around the common room again. Kato Nahilus also announced his return by posting his disgust with the gaggle of girls that are now following Tom Riddle around. He was concerned that a sickness had infected the CR and even asked about the need for wearing a Gas Mask while there. Kato has been dearly missed and it is good to see his handsome face around the school again.
April also brought the return of Hallie Potter, Andrew Cade, Lorelei and Josh North. All of the snakes were happy to see their old friends and it has been wonderful catching up with them and introducing them to our new arrivals.
Welcome home, everyone. We are glad to have you!

During the month of April we got to celebrate three birthdays in the Slytherin house. The first birthday, on April 5th, was for Seraphina! This Slytherin prefect turned 19 and although she didn't get her ever-present wish of becoming a staff member so that she can marry her beloved Professor Snape, she did get a few images and a Snape t-shirt.
The second birthday we got to celebrate was Darmean Voltron's. He turned 18 on the 12th! Darmean got to celebrate his birthday in the Common Room with an assortment of gifts and many well-wishings.
The final birthday we got to celebrate was for Niquie! Niquie turned 17 on the 23rd and had a birthday celebrated with a few gifts, one of which was the famous badge from Tom.
Happy Birthday to the three of you and I hope your days we fantastic!

After an extensive conversation between the Slytherin Captains, They have decided to combine the Spirit Club and the Cheer Squad into one club. Both having the same goal, to bring spirit to Slytherin! Jenii Chang Captain of the Spirit Club and Jess Darkwing Captain of the then Cheer Squad will be
working together and will be co-captains of this club. They have started off collecting banners and cheers and are working hard to come up with ways to boost spirit throughout the house. The one thing that's confusing about this new spirit club are the outfits. One member was recently spotted wearing a
lovely pink tutu and carrying green, yes green, pompoms. Talk about a uniform! No matter, the Silver Serpents, Broomstick Racers, and Jenii Chang, the Tri-Wizard Champion, will definitely find themselves well cheered for and Slytherin House spirit will soon reach an ultimate high
