Study on Devadasi tradition of Puri, Orissa temple rituals & the dance & music associated with them.

The Devadasi ( temple dancer ) tradition of Orissa, and the dance and music associated with them- Sharmila had conducted an exhaustive research on the temple dancers of Orissa, their art, their lifestyle and their contribution in the evolution of Odissi Classical dance. The dance production which emerged from the study has been named Sampoorna - a woman who is fulfilled. Sampoorna has received the best Choreography Award by the Ministry of Information & Culture, Govt. of West Bengal.
