Study of the percussion and musical instruments of West Orissa - The musical style of West Orissa is very colourful and vibrant, it is quite different from the style of the music commonly used in Odissi Classical Dance. Sharmila explored this style and the dance production which evolved as a result is named Amit-Shrshti ( within ourselves, we find unlimited source of creation). The beautiful lilting tunes and the bold drums of West Orissa adds a refreshing flavour to Odissi Dance. |
