The new video for 'What Doesn't
Die' was banned by MTV. Originally accepted by Headbanger's Ball, the decision
was overridden by Standards & Practices. The scenes in question were
the fake zombie on fire, the fake zombie carrying a fake head, and my fake
zombie killing scene where I knock the head off of a fake mummy. This is
the funniest thing I've heard all year.
I was asked to come up with some captions for possible edits. Here they
are in case we don't get to use them:
- This scene does not contain casual sex and or public intoxication, therefore
it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.
- This scene does not depict an unrealistic lifestyle, nor does it contain
any misogynistic acts, therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.
- This scene does not depict wanton destruction of property and or sophomoric
violence, therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.
- This scene does not exploit anyone in any way shape or form, therefore
it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.
- This scene is not reality television, therefore it was deemed unsuitable
for viewing.
- This scene does not contain a lip-synching half naked faux-orgasmic performance,
therefore it was deemed unsuitable for viewing.
- This scene does not promote celebrity worship, therefore it was deemed
unsuitable for viewing.
- This scene is not crunk or pimped. It does not contain any bling-bling,
bitches, or ho's, excessive or otherwise, therefore it was deemed unsuitable
for viewing.
There you have it. Hypocrisy anyone?
This sure does bring back the good 'ole days of Tipper Gore and the PMRC.
Remember them? They were cute compared to what we've got to fight against
now.
Free speech for the dumb,

P.S.: Our friends over at Fuse (and Launch.com) have no problem with the

KISS vocalist/rhythm guitarist
PAUL STANLEY has been working on tracks for his upcoming solo album at Bob
Kulicks Los Angeles recording studio.
Paul is working with current KISS drummer Eric Singer and former KISS guitarist
Bruce Kulick (GRAND FUNK RAILROAD) on the material, essentially making the
forthcoming recording a KISS Revenge era album.
NIGHTWISH have issued the following
update at their official website (www.nightwish.com):
May 3rd - Because of the great service from the manufacturer in Germany,
the release of the Nemo Collectors' Edition DVD will be delayed once again.
Spinefarm had been waiting for the CDs to be delivered at any moment but
finally got a note that the CDs will be mailed today.
Because of these unpleasant people the Nemo DVD version won't be for sale
yet. Nightwish -Shop will post orders as soon as gets CDs from Germany.
According to Peaceville Records,
the forthcoming MY DYING BRIDE DVD is scheduled for release in early 2005.
The Novemeber 2, 2003 concert in Antwerpen has been shot, edited and mixed,
and the band will use the summer concerts to shoot backstage footage to
add to the package. Apart from the concert and the backstage extras, the
DVD will contain the "Prize of Beauty" video, and possibly some extra surprises.
More as we get it...
After 15 years with CANNIBAL CORPSE,
I've decided to leave the group. My heart just wasn't in it anymore, and
it was reflected in my appearance on stage. Times change, and I just don't
enjoy the music as much as I used to, and the only thing keeping me in the
band was steady work, and the pay. These things makes it unfair to myself,
my band members, and especially the fans.
I'd like to thank all the members of CANNIBAL CORPSE, past and present,
for sharing in the conquest of an entire genre of music. I wish the band
continued success... I would especially like to thank the fans for being
there for 15 years. Without you, I wouldn't have made it this far. Your
dedication to death metal is unbelievable.
I am going to continue in music, of course, with ADRIFT. I'd like to thank
them for their patience and understanding, and support of my decision. We
will meet again, I'm sure.
Harry "Tyrant" Conklin has left
the ranks of Arizona metallers BALLISTIC due to his inability to tour at
this time. "Musically, we were all getting along great, in fact, couldn't
be better," said mainman Tom Gattis in a statement. "But unfortunately non-musical
circumstances have made it impossible for Harry to travel with us outside
the country." Harry's replacement is East Coast screamer Tony Taylor (TWISTED
TOWER DIRE, ISEN TORR, OCTOBER 31). Taylor has no intentions of leaving
TWISTED TOWER DIRE, but is very excited to be joining BALLISTIC. "BALLISTIC
really gives me a chance to explore new directions vocally and to push myself
to new limits," Tony said. "The band is amazing and is like a 'fist to the
face' with chainsaw guitars and an unbelievable rhythm section. Hold on
to your fucking hats!"
BALLISTIC is completed by Rikard Stjernquist (JAG PANZER) on drums, Tim
O'Conner (DEUCE) on bass and the Bulgarian shredder Peter Petev on guitar.
The band will be playing at The Mason Jar in Phoenix Arizona on June 6 (with
GRAVE DIGGER), a Bang Your Head warm-up show in Balingen, Germany on June
24, and at the Bang Your Head festival on June 26. For more information,

Guitarist Jack Owen has quit CANNIBAL CORPSE. "We are currently working with a replacement," the group write. "All scheduled concerts will still take place. Check back for a more detailed statement in the days to come."
Source: http://www.cannibalcorpse/"Hello Metal Freaks !
As you may know (or not), we (Fred, Max, and PE) decided to leave Heavenly
and form a new band.
We are currently looking for a singer, influenced by Dio, Corabi, Coverdale,
Bonnet, that kind of guys.
You may ask yourself (and you're absolutely right), what kind of music?
Well, we will continue where the early 90's (this includes Heavy, Thrash,
Hard Rock) stopped. Balls and guts, rock and thrash, aggression and melody,
that kinda shit! The mixture sounds just great, we already built some nasty
little music pieces... It's always hard to describe your own music, so lets
say that it simply rocks!
If you (yes, YOU) are a singer living in Europe, and if you think you've
got what it takes, feel free to contact us at [email protected]
We just can't wait to contaminate the world with our sonic seed !
Horns up,
Frdric Leclercq, Maxence Pilo, Pierre-Emmanuel Plisson "
For those of you who want your cake and the ability to eat it too.... today is your lucky day. Sanctuary Records has just announced that on June 8th Art of Live will be released on CD. The track listing is still being worked out. However rumors are that Comfortably Numb & Won't Get Fooled Again are being replaced by Anybody Listening. More to come...
Source: http://www.queensryche.com/Official statement:
"Thats right, further to many divergences between the band members, it
had been decided, in keeping with the record company Noise Records (label
of Sanctuary Records), that Maxence Pilo, Pierre-Emmanuel Pelisson &
Frdric Leclercq are leaving Heavenly.
The reasons of this line up changing, are due to the divergences between
the band members concerning their musical advising and the way to lead their
professionnal career.
Benjamin Sotto & Charley Corbiaux, now ones and only members of Heavenly,
insists on thanking Max, PE & Fred for all, and wishing them the best
for the futur.
But for all the Heavenlys fans over the world : Dont worry !!!
The new line up of the band is already here.
Thats right, cos three new musicians (whose names will be divulgued asap
on the Heavenly official web site), are allready working for the band and
will bring their talent on the next opus.
Heavenly is, at the moment, composing the new tracks for the next album
(which allready promises the overstepping of a new level for the band)
Big thrills for sure !!!
The band will be in studio for their next album at the end of this year.
But now, its time for Heavenly to lock themselves up durring this summer
in their rehearsal room in order to prepare all their fall gigs.
The machine is on the move, the show is going on ...."

Source: http://www.empire-records.com.pl/New album of LOST SOUL tentatively entitled "Chaostream" is going to be unleashed in the fall of 2004, specifically in December. Only mix and mastering have left to complete the work but it's safe to say it's gonna be totally different album than band's previous releases. High speed tempos, brutal riffs, amazing solos and really heavy sound (the band decided to use 7-string guitars for the first time). It's going to be much more brutal, uncompromising death metal record. We have some titles to announce: The Word of Sin, Godstate, Angel's Cry, In The Birth of Babalon, The Hidden Law. It's going to be a crushing record!

Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM
have been forced to cancel their European tour with CROWBAR and their appearance
at the With Full Force open air festival in Germany. According to an official

that "[vocalist] Maurizio [Iacono] and wife Meggin are expecting a little
boy and the due date has been upgraded to mid July, making the tour and
With Full Force too close for the birth date! The band apologizes to all
their fans and inconvenience this might have caused... The band will be

NEVERMORE is proud to announce that guitarist Steve Smyth (ex-Testament
/ Dragonlord) has officially been added to the bands lineup. The bands
latest release Enemies of Reality (2003) was recorded by original members:
Warrel Dane (vocals), Jeff Loomis (guitars), Jim Sheppard (bass), and Van
Williams (drums).
Nevermore utilized Smyths services during the bands 2003 European and
American tours in support of Dimmu Borgir. Additionally, in 2002 Smyth performed
with NEVERMORE at Germanys Bang Your Head Festival. Warrel Dane spoke up
about Smyths addition, After touring since 1995 with a number of different
guitarists in the second slot we are happy to announce that we have added
Steve Smyth on a permanent basis, the revolving door has been retired! After
touring awhile with Steve, it became obvious to us that he was the missing
link in our dysfunctional brotherhood! So now we approach the future officially
as a five-piece band! When asked about joining the band Smyth said, Im
happy to take up the challenge of playing with these guys. Ive always loved
the music, and we get along well as musicians and friends. I really look
forward to contributing on a creative level, and everything so far just
feels really positive.
Nevermore, who recently re-signed with Century Media Records, have two European
2004 summer festivals appearances scheduled: June 5 Italys Gods of Metal
and August 5-7 Germanys Wacken Open Air. The band, including Smyth, have
also completed work on the video for I, Voyager from Enemies of Reality.

Hello Everyone!
We made it back safe and sound from the US shows that we had. Crossing the
border was a bit scary though. At one point our touring van was pointed
back home to Canada! Luckily they decided to let us through after a 2 hour
struggle. I think they were just doing their jobs. I wouldn't let 5 rough
band guys in either! Ha-ha.
All the bands that we played with did a great job. The Mayhem Festival was
a fun gig to perform at. We pulled up to the club with 10 minutes to spare.
It was very stressful, but the band did well and showed me that they are
true professionals. I was the one panicking. Troy (bass) performed great
as well on his first road trip with us. Highlights of the Festival was meeting
all the cool fans, hanging with the bands and watching the front row sing
every word!
Agent Steel, Twelfth Gate, Morbid Angel and Suffocation were mind-numbing
with their playing.
Another hometown show has been booked as well:
May
14 - The Exchange in Regina, Saskatchewan (with DIRTBRED, OPEN DEADLINE)
This will be a warm-up show before we head to Europe at the end of May.
Three shows are confirmed so far, with more coming:
May
30 - Rock Hard Festival in Germany
June
3 - Venue N 8 in Osnabruck, Germany
5 - Gods Of Metal Festival in Italy
On one sad bit of news... our full US tour has been pushed back. It IS still
happening, but it will be probably in August now. Anything could change,
but that's the current plan now. Our label is working on something else
in the meantime, so we'll keep you all posted.
Thanks to everyone for signing the guestbook and for participating in our
forum. All of the band members get a kick out of reading that stuff and
we all post on it as well. If anyone has any questions, then we'll answer
what we can.....
Keep it METAL!

KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons'
version of the PRODIGY track "Firestarter" has been posted online in Windows
Media format at http://www.electricartists.com/genesimmons/Gene_Simmons_Firestarter.wma
"Firestarter" is the first single off Simmons' highly anticipated sophomore
solo album, "Asshole", due on June 8 through Simmons Records/Sanctuary Music
Group. A video for the track was filmed last Sunday (April 25) in Los Angeles
with directors Mark Klasfeld and Tony Perossian.
Like Gene's 1978 self-titled solo album, "Asshole" features a number of
outside songwriting contributions and guest appearances. Bob Dylan and Gene
co-wrote the album's "Waiting For The Morning Light". Frank Zappa and Gene

The progressive metal band Queensryche
has scheduled a special visit on its spring 2004 tour. Vocalist Geoff Tate,
guitarist Michael Wilton, bass guitarist Eddie Jackson, drummer Scott Rockenfield
and guitarist Mike Stone will visit sailors on the nuclear powered aircraft
carrier USS Nimitz at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California,
on April 29. The band will tour the ship and conduct a meet-and-greet session
with the Nimitz crew. Queensryche's San Diego stop with the USS Nimitz visit
and concert at 4th & B is part of the tour promoting the concert DVD
'The Art of Live' now available on Sanctuary Records.
The band was invited by USS Nimitz' Public Affairs Officer LCDR Brad Fagan,
who is a longtime fan. Once Fagan learned Queensryche would be performing
at 4th & B on April 29 he decided to see if the band would be interested
in meeting the approximate 3,500 sailors on board. He sent an invitation
via e-mail through Queensryche's official web site -- www.queensryche.com
-- and was quickly answered with a resounding "yes" from the band's management.
The hard work and sacrifice made by members of the U.S. armed forces and
their families is something that Queensryche knows well. Tate, Wilton and
Jackson all have close ties to the military.
"We are very excited and looking forward to a guided tour of the U.S. aircraft
carrier Nimitz. Queensryche has always supported the military troops of
the United States and in fact my father was a career military man and worked
for the Navy at Bremerton Naval Shipyard in Washington state for 20 years,"
says Tate.
Jackson says, "Growing up during the Cold War there was always a constant
threat of nuclear war. However, during the early days of the Cold War, specifically
during the late 1950s, my father was serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed
in West Germany which at the time West Germany was a political pond between
NATO and the Warsaw Pact and was constantly under the threat of invasion.
Needless to say, my father's time in the service witnessed the advent of
ballistic missiles that were capable of carrying nuclear warheads which
not only scared the s**t out of me but also the rest of the planet! The
difference between what my father and I have experienced as opposed to what
my son's generation is experiencing is a whole new type of threat and that
is terrorism. This is why the USS Nimitz and the rest of our armed forces
are much more important now to defend our freedom and demand our support.
Peace, love and kick some ass if needed!"
Wilton has several family members with military experience.
"My father-in-law Bruce Klein is a retired Air Force pilot who served from
1954-1974. He flew over 100 missions in Korea and Vietnam. He has been decorated
with 10 air medals, two flying crosses and one service medal. He currently
is married and resides in Panama City, Florida, were he hangs with his river
rat buddies and other retired officers. My cousin Anthony Dickens is currently
serving in the National Guard ground troops division. He has just finished
his duty in Iraq patrolling hostile streets. He trained at Fort Rucker in
Alabama and currently lives in Troy, Alabama. My nephew Gabriel Phoenix
is currently training at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. And
my brother-in-law Chip Dozier trained with the Marines in San Diego in the
early '90s. He is married and resides in Seattle, Washington."
The band will happily do anything it can to honor our troops, and the USS
Nimitz meet-and-greet autograph session will give the sailors a chance to
have some fun.
Here is some information about the USS Nimitz:
* USS Nimitz (CVN 68) is the lead ship in the Nimitz class of nuclear-powered
aircraft carriers; the most powerful class of warships the world has ever
known. Her keel was laid June 22, 1968, she was commissioned May 13, 1972,
and was launched May 13, 1972. The ship is currently homeported in San Diego,
California, and is commanded by Capt. Robert J. Gilman.
* USS Nimitz recently returned from an eight-month combat deployment to
the Western Pacific Ocean in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During

crew launched 12,748 aircraft and recovered 12,751 aircraft as well as 1,825
helicopter take-offs and landings.
* USS Nimitz was the first Carrier Strike Group to deploy with F/A-18 Super
Hornets in place of the venerable Tomcat and were the last Carrier Strike
Group to return from Operation Iraqi Freedom.
* The ship hosts a crew of 3,500 young men and women.

recently spoke with Rob Cavestany Of DEATH ANGEL about the new CD "The Art
of Dying" which will hit the stores on April 27, 2004 (Europe, South America)
and May 4, 2004 (United States, Australia).
Rob says the band will tour, but no U.S. dates have been set up as of yet.
It was also noted that Ryko will release more Death Angel material in the
future and that a new video has been completed:
"It will be the 'Kill As One' demo and 'The Ultra Violence' and some additional
artwork added as well. Some old pics and flyers with it as well. At the
same time will be the reissue of 'Frolic Through The Park' with three unreleased
older songs on that plus additional art to that. Then there will be an eleven
song CD of Death Angel material that was never released, then all three
will be available in a box-set with a DVD of videos of that era, with older
rare footage of shows and us messing around and stuff."
We just did a video for "Thicker Than Blood" and sent that over to Nuclear
Blast to do whatever they need to do to get that on the air. Nuclear Blast
is in contact with MTV2 to get it on there."
Rob even commented on bands like The Darkness bringing back the 80s:
"...they are bringing back the poser shit that I was never into back then.
There is no old substance musically to me. If you are bringing back Van
Halen you better bring back some riffs, some big Van Halen guitar boy."
The rumors are true! Testament
would like to announce that "Metal Mike" Chlasciak, formerly of Halford,
will be handling lead guitar duties for the European festivals scheduled
this summer. The guys jammed with Mike over this past weekend and had a
great time.
Also, the band has been continuing work on the next record. A lot more later!

In The Name Of God
Our Athens show went really well,
a packed venue with the amazing support from our Greek fans, thanx. We will
be back! 5 days later we did our 1st concert in Copenhagen. All our friends,
families & metalheads were there to raise their fist. Nice after-party
'till very early next day, that's the spirit. The shows were recorded onto
[a] 24 track. All of March and April we have been composing new songs, [in]
total we have 19 songs ready to choose from. They really sound raw and it
seems that we have gone in the direction of more brutality with everything
at 11 :-) The plan is to enter the studio in July... Release early next
year ... Be prepared.
Our DVD has been pushed back a couple of weeks (old news). US release on
May 11th, Europe on May 26th. Today [April 26] we received some copies of
the DVD, and we all were very surprised how great it turned out. Really
raw sounding & heavier than ever. With a 16-page booklet. There is also
a new song called 'Death Comes Crawling', as well as two MERCYFUL FATE classics
included. Bonus stuff also. So here is the chance to have a FORCE OF EVIL
concert right in your living room on full volume.
We are proud to announce that we
have signed the cult band Anhkrehg. These combatants of War Metal will disembark
at the Galy Records military base in August with their new weapon of mass
destruction entitled Against You All The album was produced by general
Jean-Fancois Dagenais at the Wild Studio military college (located in St-Zenon,
Quebec, Canada). Against You All contains an arsenal of 10 bombs that will
explode as soon as you press PLAY on your CD player.
Anhkrehg has been active on the war fields for already 10 years. The band
has gone through though times along its way (controversy, jail time and
soldiers lost in combat) and was a victim of war crimes (rumors and false
allegations). Now armed with a new arsenal and strategic plan, Khayr (vocals,
bass and chemical weapons), Blacknight (guitar and biological weapons) and
Infurya (drums and nuclear weapons) are determined to no longer fall in
combat.
The Anhkrehg squadron goes to war this time against its own country, Canada
The attack will start on August 2nd. Prepare yourself for merciless musical
terrorism.
