16 complete strangers are thrown overboard off the coast of Malaysia and must survive on their own and have to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other. At the first challenge where the two tribes meet, Sonja trips and causes he tribe to lose and sending them to tribal council and voting off their first member. Despite people's dislike of other castaways, Sonja is the first to go.

Pagong has struggles between the two alpha males, Joel and BB as BB has trouble to get everyone to keep working. While on Tagi both Rudy and Stacey try to stay in the game. After losing the first immunity challenge, Tagi comes back and dominates in the second challenge and send Pagong to tribal council. BB asks to go and is voted off.

Without BB things became very relaxed at Pagong but all have realized that this was their home now. Greg and Colleen began to be romantic with each other and went off on their own. Tagi won the reward challenge and Richard was able to fish but Pagong came back at the immunity challenge. At tribal council, the very disliked Stacey was voted off.

The castaways are getting hungry and the Pagong Tribe goes to rats to feed their hunger. Meanwhile Richard continues to fish and becomes indispensable for Tagi. Tagi won the reward challenge with their "Tagi is groggy" distress signal and also won the immunity challenge. Meanwhile, Ramona, who had been sick gets the boot because she was never able to really bond.

Richard was able to keep his tribe well fed and Tagi gets a bit annoyed with Dirk, the dairy farmer who isn't in the alliance (Richard, Susan, Kelly, Rudy). Pagong wins three chickens at the reward challenge and is able to win the immunity challenge sending Tagi to tribal council where they voted off Dirk from the tribe.

Both tribes talked about the merge and Pagong ate a chicken hoping to get more energy before it. After a mistake at the reward challenge by Richard, Pagong won several items. The two tribes then competed in a tough Green Beret designed challenge. Tagi was able to pull ahead and won. Joel took the heat at Gervase's joke about woman as cows and was voted off.

Jenna and Sean were each of the tribe's ambassadors and set up the new merge tribe by picking the name Rattana. The two tribes finally merged together and started to find new people they didn't like. Greg won the first individual immunity challenge and was able to make the final five. The former Pagong tribe voted in different ways while the Tagi alliance voted off Gretchen.

The entire ex-Pagong Tribe comes back and is convinced there is a conspiracy and don't like this "alliance". At the reward challenge Jenna is crushed when she doesn't have a video from home which Greg won and got an interesting video according to Rudy. Gervase won the immunity challenge and Sean began his alphabet strategy which meant Greg was next.

The three remaining Pagong members suddenly realized that they were next and tried to get some sort of alliance from the other side. At the reward challenge, which Colleen won, her and Jenna made a pact to stick together and then got Gervase with them as well. Rudy won the immunity challenge which kept him safe. The alphabet strategy was Sean, picked Jenna next to go.

Gervase and Colleen realized they were the next to go unless they won immunity. Gervase did well at the beginning and won the reward challenge and called home to his wife and newborn son. However he was not able to win the immunity challenge which Richard excitedly won. Colleen and Gervase made themselves shirts and Gervase was voted out at tribal council.

Kelly didn't want to be with the alliance any more and Colleen said she was ready to go before the game got to ugly. Sean won the reward challenge and got to spend a night on a yacht with his father. At the immunity challenge, Richard and the alliance prepared to vote off Kelly if she lost, but she beat out Colleen at the end. At tribal council, Colleen was voted off.

With no Pagong members left, the remaining five Tagi realize that they now must take out themselves. First off Kelly and Susan fight and Kelly want Richard to know that she was going to the finals with him. Kelly won both the reward challenge and the immunity challenge which kept her safe and the original four members of the alliance voted off the outsider, Sean.

It came down to Richard, Rudy, Susan, and Kelly. Kelly won the first immunity challenge and at the same tribal council her and Susan voted for Richard and Richard and Rudy voted for Susan, in the tie Kelly backstabbed Susan and Susan was voted off. Kelly then won the final three challenge and at tribal council she voted Rudy, leaving her and Richard. The final tribal council brought harsh words from Susan to Kelly and Richard ultimately won in a 4-3 voted.
