After driven into the heart of Kenya, both the Boran Tribe and the Samburu Tribe made their trek to their campsites where they would be living for the next 39 days. Kim Johnson immediately decided to pour out water After setting up camp the two tribes convened together where Samburu won immunity and Boran voted out the ailing Diane.

Clarence came back from tribal council, scared that he might be next over the bean incident and Lex thought he should be. On Samburu the tribe discovers that they are divided young and old and Silas does his best to play both sides. However Samburu wins the reward challenge and the immunity challenge sending Boran to tribal council again where they vote off sick Jessie.

After returning from tribal council, Boran was scared during the night from lions. Meanwhile on Samburu the rift between the older and younger members grew. The younger ones (Brandon, Kim P., Lindsey, and Silas helped themselves to extra food.) Boran came back winning both challenges and Samburu went to tribal council. Carl lost the tiebreaker game and was voted out.

Samburu returned from tribal council with Lindsey telling Frank, Linda, and Teresa not to mess with her. The older three felt powerless. After losing the reward challenge, the Boran Tribe ran into a dangerous cape buffalo. However Boran came back and won the immunity challenge. The four younger Samburu decided that "Mother Africa" or Linda was to much to handle.

Each tribe was asked to select there three best members. Those members found themselves being switched from their tribe to the opposing one. Kelly, Lex, and Tom went to Boran and Teresa, Frank, and Silas went to Boran. The new Boran won reward and Clarence and Silas found themselves on the outside. After Boran threw the immunity challenge they voted out Silas.

The new Samburu was divided with the old Boran members trying to find who had past votes. At the reward challenge, Lindsey, Brandon, and Kim P., were surprised by Silas being voted off and Samburu won the reward. At the same challenge Kelly was told that Lindsey had past votes from Kim J. who was on Boran. Boran won immunity and Lindsey lost in a tie vote on Samburu.

Though glad they didn't have to deal with Lindsey, Brandon and Kim P. found themselves in a tough spot. At the immunity challenge the tribes discovered that they had merged. Teresa won immunity after battling Clarence out to win. Clarence asked her not to vote for him and she agreed. However Lex got everyone else to vote for Clarence after telling Clarence he was a threat. At tribal council Clarence was out, with Lex getting 2 votes.

After returning from tribal council, Lex was on a witch hunt to find out who had voted for him. Suspecting Kelly he tried to rally the tribe into voting her out. Ethan won a reward to a local village and the next immunity challenge. Back at camp Kelly shifted to help the original Samburu members, but Brandon sided with the former Boran members and voted Kelly out.

Brandon's betrayal, made him disliked by his former Samburu tribe mates. He didn't want to be aligned with Frank. In an odd form of events he was partnered with Frank in the reward challenge and the two won a trip to see a movie. Lex won the immunity challenge and tried to vote for Frank, but the rest of the tribe didn't want to and Brandon was voted out by everyone but Lex.

After voting for Brandon, the tribe was hassled by lion's late at night who came close to camp. Ethan and Tom questioned Lex's allegiance to them after Lex voted for Frank. At the reward everyone won some food at a Survivor auction. Lex won the immunity challenge again and he would be kept safe. Lex, Kim J., Tom, and Ethan stuck together and voted out Frank.

It was getting down to the wire and the final seven were becoming close, but still felt like they were by themselves. Lex won the reward challenge as he answered the most personal questions the same that his wife had answered on video. He and Tom got to go on a hot air balloon ride and leave camp. Tom then went on to win immunity and the Boran alliance voted out Kim P.

The final five found that they were all drained physically and emotionally. At the reward challenge, Lex won and was able to win a new car and drive supplies to the nearby hospital. With Lex winning yet another challenge, the other four became frustrated. However Lex's winning streak continued and won the immunity challenge. The Boran alliance then voted out Teresa.

After 36 days, the Boran alliance was still together in the final four. At tribal council, Kim Johnson won her first immunity challenge and the tribe voted out Tom after Tom's disagreement with Lex. The final three then went took part in an African ritual before Kim Johnson won the final immunity challenge. At tribal council she voted out Lex. In the final vote between Ethan and Kim J., Ethan received five votes to win while Kim only received three making Ethan the winner of Survivor Africa.
