Amazing and entertaining tales from the road. Whether it's Robert buying Andy and Mike a couple of beers, playing ping-pong backstage with the band, scoring an interview with Jimmy Page in his hotel suite, getting free front row tickets from the band management, being run over by a semi on the way to a Led Zeppelin convention, unknowingly trying to scalp tickets to the lead singer of the opening band or landing front row seats to the only full-length Led Zeppelin concert in 27 years after camping out for two days at London's O2 Arena and gaining access to the band's rehearsal and souncheck, these stories will surely amaze you. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of their first-ever Led Zeppelin-related mission together, Out on the Tiles was launched under its original name of Ten Years Gone in 2005 in preparation for Robert Plant's Mighty Rearranger Tour. But now that nearly three years has passed since this website was created, the name has been changed to better reflect the spirit that ecompasses what can best be described as the Led Zeppelin Adventures of Andy Lee and Michael Tully. The following pages chronicle the escapades and conquests of the duo as they venture around the world to attend live performances and meet rock n roll icons Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. These road trips not only served as an opportunity to see concerts or meet living legends however. The simple spirit of adventure that fostered the initial voyage has become a constant and defining foundation of a 24-year-old friendship. |
