Law Enforcement

People seem surprised that I choose to not stay in the military. But to those that know me, they know that it's just not the life for me. I want to be around my family and friends, I want to raise my own family.

For some reason I fell in love with the career of law enforcement like most people do. Maybe it's the hero complexion, maybe it's just about wearing a uniform. It might even be the amazing pay. lol. Whatever it is, it's what I want to do until a better offer comes along.

Federal jobs require you to live in the big city, and choosing where you want to work is not something that they care about. While the job would be great, it would be bureaucratic, poor pay, and bad location.

A state job with the Highway patrol is a possibility, but its a lot like the military. Of course the location plays a part in this too, as I will probably be stationed in Southern Ohio for a few years before I get a valid request in so that I can move closer to home. The pay is decent, but it's just not what I envision.

Local is what I have been looking at. Poor pay, but the location is right, the hours are great, and if the number one thing in my life is raising a family and being there for my own family, then I am truly set.

In Dec. 04 I found out about private security. Good pay, terrible hours, terrible location, and it looks great on a resume. So that is currently a serious thought if I only do it for a couple of years. I have a year to decide and it just depends where my life will be at.

Everyone interested in law enforcement has somewhat of a gun collection. While mine might not be extensive, it is a passionate collection that suits all my needs.

Remington 700 30-06 with Leupold 3x9 40mm Scope

Glock 21 .45 Cal

Custom AR-15 M4

The design of this M4 and the purchase of was made through Jeff at Semper Fi Gunworks in Shreve, Ohio. An excellent shop with a great and knowledgeable owner. I recommend him to anyone in the area looking to purchase a gun or military supplies. He's also an ex-marine and is a lot of fun to talk to.
