You joined some Jewish groups, but don't know what to do now.
You can find the previous email from the group you joined in the Yahoo Messages section.
This is a good first step when joining a Jewish group.
However, it only works if you have subscribed to that group and if you have a Yahoo ID. Getting a Yahoo ID is a big pain in the neck. You're not going to like it. However, it's a one-time procedure, and once you have the ID you can do a lot of things that Yahoo won't let you do otherwise.
You would like to read the messages from other people, right?
You don't have to do much. Once you subscribe, all of the messages from the group come to you, every time that you check your email.
If you want to send a message to the group, just open a message that you received, click on Reply, and write your message. You'll want to delete the old message and be sure that the Subject: line is appropriate, of course.
If no message arrives for a while, you can just initiate a relevant discussion by sending your own posting to [email protected]
Your message will then be sent to the moderator for approval. If there are no problems, then it will be sent to everybody on the group, probably within just a few hours.
There are many different groups, and the discussions on each group are based on queries from subscribers. You may raise a relevanttopic of interest yourself.
Each group has a list of sample topics that you can review at the group website. For example, the list of sample topics for the Jewish Parenting group covers some issues that have been discussed in the past.
The best way to see the topics that have been discussed is to review the previous messages, as mentioned at the top of this screen.
That's great. It means that the system is working.
Actually, you won't get much email from most of the groups. We put through only the postings that meet the guidelines listed in this website.
However, if you feel overwhelmed with the number of postings, then you can sign up for the Digest version, which sends you one (big) email every day. It includes all of the discussions from that day.
You've come to the right place. The series of questions and answers in this website should help you start with the basics. The next step is to go to one of two resources.
