About Jewish Psych

"What a waste it is to lose one's mind.
Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful.
How true that is."
- Former U. S. Vice-President Dan Quayle,
trying to quote the line,
"a mind is a terrible thing to waste".

Psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers share many issues with professionals in other religions. However, Jews do have unique issues as well. After all, the Jewish psyche is undoubtedly different from that of the general population.

This may result from various factors:

  • Jews face a Yiddishe Mama syndrome
  • Jews in Israel face unique pressures
  • Jewish second- and third-generation Holocaust survivors face well-documented stresses
There are many more issues as well.

There is also value in having an international forum for Jewish practitioners.

  • We want to network among ourselves as Jews
  • We want to discuss the needs of our Jewish clients

Of course, non-Jewish practitioners who work with a Jewish clientele are welcome to join us.
