Background Story
Written by Michael & Simon
When the Solars returned to creation, some Lunars began to search for their old lovers. Others happened to encounter their lovers purely through chance. Pandora was a Lunar decidedly in the later category. She had been roaming the East for centuries, amusing herself in various ways. Then, on one fateful day, she found herself on a dusty road in the middle of nowhere, face to face with a group of Solars. Most surprising of all, one was her husband. Sure, he had a different face now, went by a different name and had no memory of who she was, but he'd always been a bit like that.

Unfortunately, Jubei (the name her husband now went by), had found a replacement for her. This replacement was a small cat named Timmy. Jelousy had always been one of Pandora's faults, and being quick to anger was another. She tried to kill the cat, and succeeded in injuring it badly with one of Jubei's own poison daggers. Not knowing how powerful the returned Solars were, and not wanting to risk killing her lover, Pandora then fled.

Timmy's injuries were server, even after the antidote had been given. In desperation, Jubei sought out a local witch, and begged her to heal his familiar. She agreed, but warned that there would be a price. Jubei agreed to pay whatever was required. The witch then gave Jubei a potion which put him to sleep.

What Jubie did not realise at the time was that the witch was in fact Pandora. Once her husband was asleep, she consumed the heart's blood of his cat (so she could take it's form), and using powers long though forgotten to the world, bound herself as his familiar.

When he awoke, Jubie found the witch gone, and "Timmy" sleeping soundly on his lap. For the next few weeks and months, "Timmy" travelled with the group. Sometimes at night, Pandora would use her powers to befuddle Jubei's mind. While he thought he dreamed, the two lovers would once more make love.

Despite the reoccuring dreams of having sex with the mysterious woman who tried to kill his cat, and the fact that people started referring to the clearly male cat as a female, Jubie and his companions remained totally unaware of Pandora's presence. Until one night when Jubei was ambushed by an Immaculate monk, seeking revenge for the death of his sister. As Jubei prepared himself for death, Pandora revealed herself, and drove away the monk. After promising to return one day, Pandora then left the almost unconscious Jubei, and vanished.

A year and a half later, she did. This time, she had two small children with her. She explained that the twins were Jubei's, and she had decided that they should get to know their father. She then promised again to return one day, and left again.

At the time, Jubei and his companions were frantically trying to rescure 50 children from a Dragon-Blooded sorcerer. So, having no choice, Jubei named the children Jebu and [don't know], and took them with him.

The children in turn were captured by the Dragon-Blooded, an individual known as the Red Tiger. In return for their freedom, Jubei and the others had to venture into the City of Madness. There, they stumbled through a doorway into Heaven.

The details of the events which followed are unimportant, except for these points. The Red Tiger was killed by Jubei, Jubei and his allies managed to prevent an assult on Heaven by a Deathlord and his army of undead, and Pandora appeared, and killed [don't know] with her bare hands.

After retuning from the underworld Jebu, his father and his father's surviving ally faced a grave choice. Jubei knew that he had to hunt down Pandora, but he could not hope to defeat her, even with his Dawn companion, with the young Jebu beside him. Also, Jubei suspected Pandora was not far away, and he had suffered grave injuries in the underworld - injuries that even with his magical healing would take many months to heal.

So Jebu was entrusted to Selina, a young woman who had helped Jubei's allies escape the hands of the Deathlord, and who's unborn child the group had saved. Selina promised to take the child North with her, and keep him hidden from Pandora - and Jubei

Jebu arrived at the monastry when he was 3 years old and began his training when he was five. For the next ten years many different individuals trained him in the ways of a monk, he befriended another student EKigero. About the same time he started training another began his as well ETesai

Tesai was everything that Jebu was not, deceitful, cruel and conceited. Tesai had great skill in battle and a sharp mind, the only Initiates who could best Jebu without the use of Charms. Together, Jebu and Kigero could stand their group against the deadly Tesai, but individually they both suffered many "acidential" unjuries at his hand. However, they refused to let themselves be cowed by the bully, and Jebu was particularly public in his resistance.

Seeing that his efforts were apparently wasted only enrage Tesai further, he challenged Jebu to mortal combat. Jebu, not wanting this fight, merely stood waiting for Tesais attack. Although Tesai was highly skilled, he had also become predictable. Tesai attacked as Jebu had anticipated and Jebu dodged easily out of the way. This continued for many minutes, Tesai growing more angry with each stroke that missed. Finally in a fit of rage, brought his sword down in a double handed strike at Jebus head. Again, Jebu easily evaded his stroke, and Tesais blade flew into the ground with such force the blade shattered, a piece of it flying up into Tesais face scarring him horribly.

Jebu said nothing and simply turned and walked away but Tesai, still overcome with rage, drew a dagger from his sleeve and threw it at Jebu. The dagger struck Jebu in the back just behind his heart. Though it did not cut deep, Jebu almost instatly dropped to the ground and passed out. Kigero rushed to his side, and while Tesai was restrained by some of the other students, she went to work on Jebu.

Kigero was able to identify the poison from the taste of the residue still on the blade, and an antidote was quickly applied before the poison killed him. By the time Jebu had recovered, Tesai had been expelled from the Immaculate Order, but not before vowing revenge on Jebu and Kigero.

Jebu is now 20-ish, and it is getting close to time for him to descide if he wishes to join the Immaculate Order or find his own path in the world. To further his studies and skills, Master Eman has placed Jebu with the local blacksmith for a few months.
