A Tribute To Bumper

I know being a bunny parent can be very confusing, especially for a brand new parent, but even for those that have been parents for years.  Bunnies make amazing companions but they are a lot of work and they do require you to know all about them in order for them to stay healthy.

I remember when we first became bunny parents, every little thing Bumper did made us nervous.  We didn't know how to pick her up and when we did we were petrified that we were going to injure her.  We didn't know what to use for litter, what to use as a bed, what toys were safe for her, etc.  And especially when we got her spayed - that first night when we took her home from the vet we were so afraid that we were going to do something wrong or not see a sign from her that she was in pain or that something was wrong.  Thankfully I found an online forum full of knowledgable members and a couple websites that taught us a bunch of things.  The first night after Bumper was spayed I kept running back and forth from her to the computer to look up all the different things that she was doing and emailing the forum to ask their opinions.  We definetly couldn't have gotten through that night without the online forum or the websites, and we definetly wouldn't have learned as much as we did without them either.

So that is why I am posting them here, for any new bunny parent looking for answers, someone wanting to become a bunny parent,  or even for experienced bunny parents that sometimes still have questions.  I hope they help you as much as they did us.

I am also adding a link for "My Heart's Missing Link".  Cheryl designed these pendants that are to symbolize the missing link in your heart.  I ordered one in honor of Bumper and put her birthstone in the middle and I have to say, it brought me so much comfort having it around my neck and feeling like she was close to me in my own way.  I think it's a wonderful idea - and it's not only for pets, it's for loved ones and even those that leave for the military.
