I know, it is about time right? I has taken me a while to get back and bring everything up to date. Well, to start off, we now have another child. A beautiful little girl, Keergan Lea was born on September 11, 2002. Yep on the 9/11 anniversary. They had our picture in the paper, always a lovely thing the day after you give birth :) She weighed 7lbs 7.7 oz they always called her the jackpot baby and said we should buy a lottery ticket, three 7's. She was 18 inches long. The labor and delivery proved to have quite a few problems for both of us but thankfully everything ended up being okay.
It was very difficult to get through this pregnancy without be anxious, I wanted to be overjoyed, but at the same time I felt like I shouldn't push my luck. We had quite a few ultrasounds, but could never tell what she was, I would have been less worried had I known it was a girl, because what Blake had, or the type I should say is found in boy's. I didn't even want to buy anything for the baby until my third trimester for the fear of having to pack things away again.
This summer it will be three years since Blake died, it seems unbelievable. Keergan was definitely one of the best therapies I could have ever asked for, along with our son. She will never replace Blake, no one ever will, but she did bring our family even closer together, and helped fill that deep hole he left in our hearts.
We have since bought a house, she was actually born on the day we were supposed to move in! Our son Preston will be five and Keergan is now one and a half. Boy how time flies. I plan to have more on here soon, I just wanted to post an update after all this time.... |
