3-4 lb rump roast 3 cups water 3-4 beef bullion cubes 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp pepper 1 tsp oregano 1 tsp Italian seasoning Dash garlic salt
Mix all ingredients together. (You may double the ingredients above to make more au jus, but don't double the salt). Brown roast, uncovered at 450 degrees - 15 minutes for each side. Pour the mixed ingredients from above, over roast. Cover and reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake covered for 2-2 1/2 hours. Cool, slice beef and place in deep dish. When roast is finished, you may put the au jus in a bowl and put it in the freezer for a short time. This will cause the fat to harden and come to the top for easy skimming. Once fat is removed, pour back over roast and serve.
