Because we're too busy looking at our trials.
If we would just set aside the things of this world;
We could see His blessings for miles and miles.
What about the sky so blue, and the stars so bright?
What about the green grass and trees, and the sun as our light?
Do you think about the water and how it flows?
Or about the moon in it's splendor and how it glows?
What about the mountains in all their majesty?
The birds we hear singing in the morn?
Just think for a moment, of the heavenly;
That in itself is a beautiful melody.
Think of the butterflies while in mid-flight;
Think of the vast oceans and all of their might.
Think of the plants and bushes that surround;
All of the vegetation that comes from the ground.
Without these things we could not survive;
He gave us everything we need for this life.
So the next time you stop to smell a flower;
Remember He left us with His strength and power.
He gave us free will and the choice to follow Him;
To be forgiven of our wretchedness and our sin.
When we wallow around in self-pity, hatred and pride;
We hold in hand, the very spear which pierced His side.
When we fear man or the things of this earth;
Then we lose sight of the purpose of His birth.
He gave us all the tools, if we'd just look around;
And the Gift of Grace, which does abound.
Remember that something passionately monumentous;
When God gave His Only Begotten Son to die for us?
Of these things, this is the greatest blessing of all time;
Through our willingness, in us, His light will shine.
His word was given so that we may have direction;
For inspiration, devine guidance, and instruction.
In all these things, His blessings are contained;
Just allow Him your life to enrich and maintain.
So in closing, I would like to say;
Let the good Lord bless your way;
Take all of His blessings and words to heart;
From darkness and misery, you will depart.
