On the 20th of November 1992, a VAX/Rdb VMS V4.1 new feature was implemented. Figure No. 7 shows how a 'run about the central line' can prove that this feature really improved response time. 'Run about the central line' demonstrates six points below the average. The probability of this being a genuine system improvement is 63/64.
Figure No. 8 shows special variation due to extensive 'end of month' processing in the middle of a week. The system returns to a stable state after a few days.
