| 1. After touring City Hall you will be assigned to a city department. a. Human Services: Senior Citizens, Transportation b. Parks and Recreation: Fitness, Parks, Aquatics c. Planning and Zoning: Building, Zoning d. Public Safety: EMS, Fire e. Police: K-9, Youth Services, Detective Bureau f . Public Works: Urban Forestry, Water Resources, Public Power, Sanitation g. Streets: Storm Sewers, Special Pick-ups, Projects 2. Each team member is expected to research one service in their department using the links above. You will describe the service and list 2 ways it helps people or the environment. 3. You will organize this information using Kidspiration in the computer lab during media class and add it to an organizational chart representing city government. 4. The teams will make a final presentation of the services in their department to the Mayor. |
