Making The Cut
A friend of my dad told me about O-Town audition. He was making fun of me because I was into hard rock, and everybody was always telling me that I'm perfect for a boy band. They would tell me that I can sing and dance and that I had a pretty face, teasingly. So, when my dad's friend mentioned the audition, I didn't want to go. But then one of my friends stepped in and filled out the form for me and sent it in. Then I got a call back from what he gave them and I just kept moving on. I guess my dad's friend was right - that I had the look, the charisma, and talent they were looking for.

Living In A Fishbowl
It's hard to be scrutinized all the time. It was hard to get used to the cameras at first. For the first two weeks it was a total invasion of privacy, but we all opened up after that and treated them like they were flies on the wall. By the end, though, we were glad we didn't have to wear the mic packs anymore.
New Year's Eve was hard to watch again. I still think that Marc, our road manager, was wrong about us not being able to be ourselves now because we are in a group. I think the only reason why people can't be themselves is because they're afraid that somebody's not going to agree with them, and that they might lose their fan base or something. I'm not going to be afraid to stand up for what I believe in because I'm going to lose fans or money over it. It's just a differance of opinion I have. And every person has an opinion and shouldn't be afraid to speak it.
Family
I have a really close family. Although I only have just one brother and one sister, I have 46 cousins, and 38 of them live within 20 minutes from my house, so we all grew up close to each other. My family has given mea great relationship with god, which helps me keep it real, and I believe very strongly in god and having a good family life.
Jacob's mom, Mechele, says was so driven to be a musican, so I'm not suprised at all by his success. He was driving me crazy with all of his creative energy, so I said to him "You'd better move to L.A.!"
He's got a peace about him now that he's musically on his way, and I see a lot of happiness in him now because he had a goal that was set, and he reached it. My biggest wish is for Jacob to continue walking in god's truth. MY biggest worry is that he might get away from god's word and that his heart will become a little hard. I don't want him to be lost without god.
Girls
I think the show focused a lot on our relationships with girls, and that was a reminder for me of past mistakes. Every experience with girls on the show with us - not one of them works out! If things didn't happen on the show, they happened after the show - bad break ups, dates, and such. We all had bad experiences with girls. And now when I see the show it just reminds me of the mistakes I made with girls.
Right now the most important girl in my life is my longest lasting friend but we're not dating. We are just going on with our lives, but we are very connected.
The girl I settle down with will be a hometown girl - a San Diego girl. She'll enjoy going to the beach, have a great sense of humor, take pleasure in the arts, and have a strong faith in god.
