Making The Cut
I was on-line one day and I was looking for information on The Real World, and ther was a link that said "Do you want to be on T.V.?" And I was like, sure! So I clicked it and it gave me audition information for O-Town. I sent in a tape, and I never got a call back. But I noticed the auditions in Nashville were open for everybody, so I decided to go anyway. The day before I was leaving, I got a call asking me to come. It was a good thing I made plans to go! I could'nt believe it when I made the top 25, and I wasn't crushed when I didn't make the 8. I felt in my heart that something better was going to come of it. No one was more suprised than I was when I got the call to replace Ikaika. My mian concern and biggest challenge was to bond with the guys and make sure that I fit in. Luckly the guys took me in with open arms and it's been nothing but smooth since.

We have to remember it's because of the cameras we're in the position we're in. Because of the cameras, I was ina group for two weeks, and the next thing I knew we we're auditioning for record companies and putting on shows. A"normal" group would never dream of performing after two weeks of being together. We tried to keep making big leaps and strides and always keep improving, whether the cameras are there or not. Because if the cameras aren't there there is going to be a crowd anyway - whether it be record company people, choreographers, whoever. There's always somebody watching. It does take a load off our shoulders to have the cameras off, though. We have talked to our choreographers and our vocal coach since then, and it was hard for them to say some things at times, too. With the cameras off, we've had some times where people have been able to completly be and totally honest with each other where there were times when they felt like a little wierd before.
Family
My family is super supportive. And they were especially great when I was a secret and they couldn't tell anyone. People would ask, "So, how's Dan?" and they were'nt able to say "He's great! He's going to be on T.V. later this summer!" They would just say, "Well, he's fine." That was really hard for them, because I'm sure they would have loved to have told everyone in town! Dan's mom, Angela, says Danny is at his happiest when he is singing and dancing. He has been dancing in particular ever since he was born. He was really drawn to the Mickey Mouse Club and Kids Incorporated and all those shows with dancing. When he was in 6th or 7th grade I would hear him sing on the phone, and it turned out girls that knew him from school were calling him. They had heard him sing in music class, and they would call him and say, "Sing to us1" I sometimes worry that he won't be treated well by people that he works with. But Danny's doing what he's always wanted, and that will bring him happiness and success.
On Cindy
I definitely miss having a lady friend to hang out with. Ever since I got here, most of the people I hang out with are guys. I miss having A woman's point of view on some things. My girlfriend, Cindy, and I both want to do a lot of things, and we don't want to get in the way of each other. So we have an open relationship - it's perfect for both of us. We don't necessarily have to talk to each other everyday or every other day, because we know we're both busy. Some girlfriends would get upset if they couldn't talk to their boyfriends or see him, but Cindy's okay with that. We have a relationship where we're not completly tied down because we know a lot of things that can happen through this whole situation. People change situations change so we're both very mature about it and we do have a good hold on what's going on. It's hard to say if our relationship will last because this is the hardest thing we've ever had to go through. It's been on the ropes at times. We'd like to think that we can push through it, but, again, it's hard to tell. We have a strong relationship, but this is a really tough time now.
