There was so much going through my head when the names were called for the final cut and I wasn't one of them. Disappointment, embarrassment, frustration, relief, but aside from what I was going through at that moment, I knew that the five of my little brothers had realized a dream come true and I wanted to be there to support that and celebrate with them. I wanted to make the cut so badly, but in the end, when I had to go home, it was leaving my "family" behind that hurt more than not making the final five. Because of this unique situation that we were in, we all became really close in a short amount of time, and going through so many new experiences together gave all of us a special relationship with one another.
The experience really taught me that a lifelong dream could come true if you want it enough, work hard and create your own opportunities. I had wanted to sing all my life, but I never pushed myslef to leap, it took going through this process to realize how much I really want it and how bad I'm willing to work for it. If I had given up after the first time someone said I wasn't good enough or that I didn't have the right look, or they didn't thik I'd be able to handle it, I would never have gone to the O-Town auditions. |
