"Toto this ain't EDEN. And 'em ain't APPLES!"

Hot Dogs! Get UR Hot Dogs!

This was a common occurrence in America, and especially in the Southern States, between the years 1880-1940.

I learned at a very young age how the Christian will wear the cross like the KKK wears his masks. Evil never shows its face. On such matters as this, I was always told, "Those are not 'real' Christians." Since the majority of Americans are claiming to be 'real' Christians, I always wanted to know, "WHERE WERE THEY?" I'm sure this strange fruit spectacle sold a lot of lemonade and fried chicken. He probably got a good many prayers from a lot of well meaning people, but what good did it do? Robert Ingersoll, the Great Agnostic, said, "Hands that help are better far than lips that pray." Get off your knees. Take your mask off. And 'walk' the 'talk'.

If we believe absurdities, we shall commit atrocities.
Francois Marie Arouet "Voltaire", French author and playwright (1694-1778).

Billie Holiday

STRANGE FRUIT

In 1999, Time magazine elected 'Strange Fruit' "Song of the Century."
Lyrics by: Lewis Allen a.k.a. Abel Meeropol
Originally sung by: Billie Holiday "Lady Day"
Music by: Sonny White

Southern trees bear strange fruit
Blood on the leaves
Blood at the root
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees
Pastoral scene of the gallant south
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth
The scent of magnolia sweet and fresh
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh
Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck
for the rain to gather
for the wind to suck
for the sun to rot
for the tree to drop
Here is a strange and bitter crop

X-tion Soldiers?
