Bienvenidos al
mundo pictórico de Oskar Olazo, mundo entrelazado y subdividido
por líneas, delgadas y poderosas que sostienen la
'construcción' visual de l os cuadros y al mismo tiempo crean
una asombrosa ilusión de profundidad y movimiento. Olazo
observa y estudia sus espacios imaginarios con atención y
presición de un arquitecto y los descompone, reduce a formas
geométricas elementales, como lo hacían los cubistas
analíticos; sin embargo a los volumenes agresivos e irregulares
del cubismo temprano prefiere figuras planas,
bidimencionales y perspectiva lineal exacta. Las dos series de
pinturas presentadas aquí, "LA GEOMETRIA DEL PAISAJE"
con sus motivos arquitectónicos reales y concretos y "LOS
HABITANTES DEL TIEMPO" poblada por símbolos y personajes
semi-abstractos, son opuestas por el enfoque temático y
conceptual, pero unidas por el mismo estilo que marca las
obras del artista, elegante y sencillo trazo gráfico Vera

GEOMETRIC HARMONIES
Welcome to the pictoric world of Oskar
Olazo, the world interlaced and divided by the lines, thin but powerful,
that maintain the whole visual 'construction' of the paintings and at the
same time create an amazing illusion of depth and movement. Olazo observes
and studies his imaginary spaces with the attention and precision of an
arquitect, decomposing and reducing them to the elementary geometric forms
as the analytic cubists did; however to the agressive and irregular volumes
of the early cubism he prefers plain two-dimentional figures and exact
lineal perspective. The two series presented here, "TOWNSCAPE
GEOMETRY" with its realist arquitectural motives and "INHABITANTS OF THE TIME" populated by semi-abstract characters and
symbols, are opposed to one another by the thematic and conceptual approach,
but united by the same style that marks the works of the artist, the simple
and elegant graphic line.
