The Matthew Fountaine Maury Camp # 1722 SCV and The Lucy Ann Cox Chapter,
Order of Southern Gray
Lucy Cox stayed with the 30th Va.
Guard the entire 4 years. She shared
her food, mended clothes, nursed when the soldiers were sick, and marched with the unit. She never complained.
OSG felt Lucy deserved this Distinguished
and Honorable Cross
Confederate Cemetery.
OSG & SCV of Fredericksburg together cleaned bricks and rebuilt the wall.
