Team Retreat
Our team recently got back from a retreat at Catalina Island in early March. Our focus was two-fold: one, to discuss and pray about our vision, searching for more specific instruction from God, and two, to spend time together without distraction. We sang, cooked, ate, hiked, explored, planned and worshipped together. Evident in our constant singing, it was a time of great joy and fun. Our worship on Sunday reminded us that we have the most incredibly GOOD news to share! We left assured of our plans to develop a young professionals ministry in Osaka.

Team Testing
   Steve Rouse and Edwin Cahill have been instrumental in administering different evaluations for us.
   Steve Rouse, a psychology professor and fellow Malibu church member, administered a personality test for us. The results are beneficial for us to see both team and individual strengths and weaknesses as we enter the mission field.
   Edwin Cahill, a member of the missions committee and liason for us to the Malibu church, administered a leadership evaluation for our team. The results are still to come, but the test will show our strengths, adaptability , and will enhance our ability to work together.

Praise and Prayers
   Praise that our team has been able to meet together and grow together. Prayers that we may utilize this last month together before Tim N. graduates and the Pepperdine school year ends.
   Prayers for fundraising, for our visas, and for our times with Dr. Rodriguez.
   Prayers for this summer with the Let’s Start Talking teams in Osaka.
   Pray that our decision may witness to those in Japan and to those in the States.

Fundraising
   Concerning fundraising, we are still seeking your partnership.  We are seeking funds to cover our initial costs which we project to be $5100 per person. We are confident that God will provide, and we ask that you pray again to know if He is calling you to be a part of this ministry in either a prayer or a financial support role. We need these funds as soon as possible, allowing us to purchase airfare.

Timeline
April 25th—Classes end at Pepperdine
April 27th—Tim Natale graduates!
May 8th—First Let’s Start Talking team leaves.
June 18th—Second Let’s Start Talking team leaves.
Mid July—Tim N. and Bethany leave for Japan (Bethany will stay for one
     month).
Late July—Tim R., Cass, and Leah leave for Japan.
