BANK OF MONTROSS

This is the original building around 1909 for the Bank Of Montross. Prior to this time this building was the Westmoreland County Clerks Office.

WESTMORELAND COURT HOUSE AROUND THE TURN OF THE CENTURY

This is the front of the Westmoreland County Court House around the turn of the 20th Century. This front is facing where the Westmoreland County museum is now located. Todays front, on the right of this picture, was at this time the side of the building facing route three.

EARLY MONTROSS HOTEL

This is the Harris Hotel around the turn of the 20th century. Today the Harris Hotel is known as the Inn of Montross. This building was, at one time, the home of Mr. A. E. Carver.

Mr. L. E. Westmoreland ran a chicken hatchery in Montross originally at the old Farmer Supply Store (later at the present NAPA Store). Here is the first shipment of chickens on their way to market.(From the "Potomac Interest" newspaper, 1952)
