Parallel Word

Chapter 8

"Where did you find him?" a girl asked.

"In the middle of the road." a man replied.

"Why did you bring him here? Do you understand the risk you are putting us into?" A furious voice questioned.

"Hey! The guy was hurt okay? Besides he is wearing a extreme T-shirt!"  Jeff could hear them clearly. He tried to answer them but his body wouldn't cooperate. There was a short silence before he heard voices again.

"You think he is one of us?"

"We can't just leave him there to die, can we?"

"And we may end up all dead if he is a spy!"

"Stop exaggerating will ya!"

Jeff couldn't understand this, what are they talking about? Is this a dream? A nightmare? Is he dead? Why can't he move? His eyelids were just too heavy!

"Stop it you two! We can't say anything yet until he wakes up. Maybe he is one of us, he kinda...look extreme to him.."

"......"

"Guess you're right. Just... just  watch him carefully!" Jeff heard footsteps, someone had just left the room.

"So, why is he still not waking up?"

"Not until tomorrow, he's pretty bad. The guy is lucky that he is not dead."

This is too much for Jeff, he need to wake up and see for himself. These people are talking trash! Don't they already know him too well? these voices...They belong to....

Its four in the morning, the road ahead was dark and empty. Amy Dumas had called everyone who knows Jeff, but none seen him. She looked out of the car window feeling a little worn out. She saw something red laying in the middle of the road.

'Matt, Look! Over there!" she pointed ahead.

"Oh my god!" Matt stopped the engine and rush out of the car.

The all too familiar red bike laid smashed at the road side, near the ramp.

"Jeff! Where are you? Jeff?" Nobody answer him but his own echo.

"Where is he?" Amy uttered, shocked to see the bike laid crashed on the road.

Matt had never felt so worried in his life. Jeff.. his only brother.. he can't let anything bad happen to him. He can't!

"I don't know..." he took out his phone and started calling every hospital in the area.

Amy looked on, suddenly she had a horrible feeling.

"Not this.." she peered down the cliff at the side of the road, nothing but darkness.
