Chapter 5 |
The slippery road was a cause of the continuous downpour. Jeff Hardy has no intention to slow down even to that. Despite of the deafening sound of the thunder, he could still hear the whispering of the wind and the sea splashing nearby. This could be a romantic night, hero to the rescue! He chuckled to himself. Despite of the tiring day, he felt relax and peaceful at the moment. The sound of the sea were like song of the mermaid while the the rush of the wind on his skin reminded him of flying. "Help..." The Hardy looked to his left, he thought he heard a faint cry. Nothing but pitch dark. "Must be the wind.." he thought. "Jeff..." This time he was sure it was not the wind. Jeff turned his head to the left once more. "Boom!~~" suddenly lightning striked the road, few feet away from Jeff. He gasped in terror as he tried to stop his vehicle. It was too late as his bike skidded and toppled over, dragging Jeff along the way. Everything happened so fast! Sparks of flames flying all around him, sickening sound of the metal crashing against the road! Jeff, his bike and the rest of the world went flying all together! The younger Hardy felt a jolt of pain shot through his body before he finally stopped and everything went black. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Matt Hardy turned and flipped in his bed. The dream that he had earlier kept haunting him.. like a video tape replaying over and over again. He let out a groan. kicked off the cover and reached for his phone. He need to check if his brother was okay. No answer. "Where could he be?" Matt frowned. "Ring ring!" Matt jumped when his phone rang right after he put down the receiver. "Hello?" he answered nervously. "Matt! Is Jeff there with you?" it was Beth, she sounded shaky. "Beth? What's wrong?" Matt asked with concerned. "It's Jeff, he promised he would come over to my place. It's been 2 hours now, still no sign of him! Matt! I am so worried!" she wailed, almost in tears. "Calm down Beth...he is probably on his way now..." he tried to calm her down. "It's been 2 hours now! Matt." "I'll go look for him, don't worry okay? Give me a call if he arrive." with that Matt put down the phone and rushed over to Amy's room. |
