"We don't claim to be the hardest, heaviest, or hippest band on the scene," claims KIVA's singer Dave Martin, "but by the same token we aren't the safest either. We just do what we feel and try not to be the 'flavor-of-the-month' band." KIVA's sound is indeed right on the borderline, any heavier and they would be a mosh band, any lighter, and they would be mainstream radio-rock.
"We aren't out to compete with anyone, we aren't trying to be better than anyone," says Martin, "As we make our way up through the scene, we want to be down with the other local bands. When it comes down to it, we are all going for the same thing."
Stirring up a buzz around the local scene for about a year now, KIVA is finding support all over the Orlando scene with a single from their CD making rotations on WJRR's Native Noise, and recently landing a gig at the Hard Rock Live, KIVA are on the uprise!
