Orissa MuayThai Union is the Only Registered & Recognised State Level Muaythai Governing Body of Orissa to run, Promote & Control the Amateur (Sports) Muaythai under the banner & logo of Muaythai Federation of India - MFI & Amateur Muaythai Association of India - AMAI. Which it self is an affiliated body of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur - IFMA, Federation of Amateur Muaythai of Asia-FAMA & World Muaythai Council - WMC. IFMA is a Full Member of General Association of International Sports Federation (GAISF Recognised by: INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE - IOC).

Muaythai Federation of India (MFI) Approved by: Indian Olympic Association - IOA in the year of 1998 to prepare Indian Muaythai Team to participate in the 13th Asian Games -98 Recognised by the Olympic Council of Asia held at Thailand. That is the first honour in which the Indian National team headed by Mr. Oken Jeet Sandham President, Muaythai Federation of India had got 2 Bronze Medals and which is making a history for Muaythai in India.

Anshuman Behera of Orissa Muaythai union has been selected to represent india for the ensuing World Games for All Sports to be held at South Korea under the Patronage of International Olympic Committee

2 Silver Medal achieved by Mr. Mohan Meher & Mr. Anshuman Behera by representating Orissa in the 8th IFMA-India National Muaythai Championship held at New Delhi - India, Organised under the aeiges of Muaythai Federation of India.

Anshuman Behera (Koraput) successfully represented India through MFI in the WMC - IFMA World Championships-2007 27th November - 5th December 2007 held in honour of the 80th Birthday of his Majesty the King of Thailand

Mr. Trinath Sing Lal (Muna) of Jeypore has been accepted as a Member with SOUTH ZONE MUAYTHAI ASSOCIATION OF ORISSA. And authorised to run teach & control the Muaythai Sports in the entire Southern Zone of Orissa.

Mr. P. Satish Kumar (Treasurer, OMU), Mr. Abhimanyu Swain (Gen. Secy, OMU), Mr. Rajendra Pr. Bhoi (V.P. OMU) have successfully completed the National Referee Course and Trained the Special Muaythai Course during 7th National Muaythai Championship 07.
