The Truth
The truth is what we most despise,
But sometimes what is needed most.
The truth may leave you truly stunned,
Or maybe you will realize:
Some hopes are false when thoughts obscure
The truth behind the human mind.
Beliefs are wrong when seen through tint,
The tint that hides the truth within.
Misconception reigns supreme
When feelings hide from others' minds.
Despair exists when there are lies,
And truth is veiled in clever words.
Forever there are false beliefs,
Forever people misconceive.
Reality's concealed away,
And masked from truth by those who hide.

Fires Burn Like Life
On rainy nights a firelit pipes divine,
With smiling faces and sparkling cups of wine.
The fires inside are burning warm and bright,
Much to all the girls and boys delight.
A grandpa sits and thinks of olden days,
When but a child was he whos old with age.
Wishing that the days of oldd return,
He blinks at Now, and watches fires burn;
Like life they burn away as years go by,
He thinks, and drinks again with but a sigh.
