The Fire in His Eyes
-5/7/99
Hast Thou
-5/20/99?
The fire in his eyes is his pride,
His desire to succeed, to be good.
The fire in his eyes is the burning desire,
The void in his heart,
Longing to be filled.
The fire in his eyes is his mind,
Flowing swiftly from one motion to another,
Without a glance, without knowing how,
Learning and spreading knowledge.
The fire in his eyes is his intelligence,
His strengths and weaknesses,
His yearning to be someone known.
The fire in his eyes is the devil in him,
Spreading disaster as one
Who can turn events with his hand.
The fire in his eyes is a saint,
Doing good, pleasing himself and others.
The fire in his eyes is his passion.
To be his best is his goal,
To live long and love,
To learn all there is to know,
To be one, as himself.
The fire in his eyes is truth,
The truth of the past, the present, and the future.
The fire in his eyes is hate
Of the world and of what he never knew.
The fire in his eyes is desire
For something more than life,
Something higher, something larger,
Something he can love.
The fire in his eyes is beauty
Beyond caring, beyond life.
The fire in his eyes is his fear
Of nothing, and of everything he has ever known.
The fire in his eyes is the love of music,
Beating through his heart,
Setting the mood of his life.
The fire in his eyes is belief,
Hope that all will be well,
Faith in the future.
The fire in his eyes is his devotion,
To his friends, to his family,
To those things around him
Worthy of his love.
The fire in his eyes is the passion in his heart,
Which will always be,
Which will always stay,
Despite all against him,
Despite the odds,
Despite the visions of the future.
The fire in his eyes is triumph to come,
Victories unknown, battles yet undecided.
He will prevail.
The fire in his eyes is the cool calm
Of a spring pool after the rain.
The fire in his eyes is the calculating measure
Of his successes, of his failures,
Of his future domination.
The fire in his eyes is his devotion
To love, life, and success,
To himself and those he loves,
To the world and all her allies,
To all those who would oppose him,
And to his heart
And the void yet to be filled.
Hast thou a place for me to sit?
Hast thou a place for rest?
If thou wouldst give, I'd surely pay.
For you I'd give the best.
