"Bayi Sa Suba" meaning "Woman in the River". During my childhood days, I spent most of my time near the ocean and the river. I saw and imagined a lot of different things during those times. The vision that is often on my mind was of my auntie Siony near the river bed, her face full of joy and serenity. My aunt has gone through insurmountable pain and suffering during her lifetime. I don't like seeing her in a mournful state, so I sketched this picture of her because art according to Picasso cannot live in the past nor in the future but it lives only in the present. Even though my sketch cannot be compared to the likes of Picasso or Rene, it is still art and the calmness and peace of my aunt Siony despite everything lives on in the present.
