SUMMER CAMP, 2008
The Heart of Florida Orff Chapter held its first ever summer music
camp from August 4th thru 8th. Camp location was Williston First
United Methodist Church and we met from 8:30 to 12:30 everyday.
Several chapter members volunteered their time to teach many wonderful
lessons. Seven children played the recorder for the first time. They
learned the five notes of the G pentatonic scale and by the end of the
week played "Chatter With the Angels" to celebrate their musical
success. The camp averaged fifteen children a day and raised over
$1000.00 for the chapter treasury. |
