We began the day early because it was recycle day! We had to put out the cans, bottles, plastic, newspapers, cardboard, old clothes, milk cartons before eight o'clock, and on a Saturday! We didn't dare miss it because we were gone for the last one, and it only comes once a month!
After, we hit the road for Saitama, the Prefecture south of Ibaraki. It was very nice, easy sailing down on the expressway, and we had a nice Italian lunch near Komaba Stadium in Urawa. Then on to Kanon's house! She was just a bit shy at first, but soon  warmed up to us, and spent the whole afternoon playing with Kylie. Kanon has such nice toys! Kylie especially liked one with four drums on a spindle that she could spin, and some balls on a wire she could push back and forth, and occasionally try to eat.
In the late afternoon, we went shopping, and Kylie played on her daddy, occasionally pulling his hair and trying to poke his eyes out as he drank his coconut frappachino. Afterwards, we had a wonderful curry and played games after the little ones fell asleep.
Kylie was on a baby mattress on the floor, and she was rolling all over untill we blocked her in with four pillows. Then she would roll up one a bit, then gravity would roll her back. That at least kept her in one place. We noticed that when we put the little ones to sleep in a different room, and especially on the second floor, we are always keeping one ear cocked for the sound of trouble. We think it is much easier having the crib in the same room, or at least on the same floor.
