Today was a milestone in development! Recently, Kylie has been moving her mouth and swallowing while watching us eat. So today, Mayuho made some mush for her by boiling rice for what seemed an awfully long time, and then grinding it into paste with a mortar and pestle. It looked (and tasted) a lot like the paste you used to get in the first grade, but not as salty. In fact, if it had any less flavor, it could have been Swedish food! Hahahahah... Come on, that was funny and you know it. But anyway, our precious took a spoonfull, moved her mouth like she was chewing, and swallowed. And she did such a good job, it almost scared us. You always see pictures of babies with food all over their faces, hands, chair, wall, and the like, but Kylie didn't even need to have her chin wiped off! It was amazing. So she had a little bit more, and then a wonderful dessert of Mayuho's breastmilk. After she gave us a big smile and tried to clap her hands (she missed). |
