Kylie's First Word!
Oh, and a Happy Valentine's Day to all...
2/14/2003
Oh my goodness! Kylie spoke! I wish  I had been there! Apparently, as I was toiling away in the English mines, loading my 16 tons of English, getting a day older and... well, not deeper in debt, but staying about the same, Kylie was back in Hitachi
talking to her Grandma! Mayuho and Grandma were talking, and when Grandma asked Kylie if she was OK, Kylie said "OK." (cue "Twilight Zone" music)
Now I know that some of you unenlightened out there will say that it was just chance, or the old standard "It's just gas," I know the truth, that my daughter is a genius, and of course was agreeing with her grandmother. What parent doesn't know their child is the next
Einstein, but with better hair? (What was up with that guy's hair, anyway?)
In other news, it was Valentine's Day here in Japan as well. But here in Japan, women give men chocolate or some sweets, and men just get fatter. But we have to repay the favor on "White Day," March 14th. Yeah, I dunno either.
And of course, it is not just people you are romantically interested in, it is also your co-workers. That is called "giri-choco," or "obligation chocolate," and is given to ALL the males in the workplace, regardless of how much of a loser they are. Ahh... Sweet, sweet pity... In this case, literally!
