Always the Joker and never alone,
A friend to the end, a friend who's now gone.
The hurt and pain was relinquished with time,
his smile and his humour he left us behind.

Though missing he is as we go on with our lives,
we speak of him always, and he leaves us with smiles.
good times are left for us to remember,
now up above, he is our defender.

Though a friend we've all lost, just memories retained,
as he looks from above, an angel we've gained.
remember him fondly with a glint in our eye,
we remember our Paddy, he was a helluva guy.

the roads that we walked and the mountains we climbed,
missing him greatly, the pain healing with time.
a mate at the start and a mate at the end,
he showed us the meaning of being a friend.

Thinking back, the time that I spent with him,
his funny old smile, and his mischevious grin.
those times are now gone, the future we hold,
we'll remember his acts and his stories we told.

If its true what they say, actions are louder than words,
then paddy was spoke loudly, without speaking a verb.
what he was given by god, he used to the best,
what we were given by him, we'll never forget.

now above looking down, with saints at his side,
there's no better man for god to confide.
and though he was young, it was his time to leave us,
the next time we meet, he'll be bigger than Jesus.
