| Thanks to Maggie, we're seeing a lot of Virginia. We like to take her to state, county, and national parks on the weekend to giver her some exercise. Here is the first park we took her to in Great Falls, Virginia. That's the Potomac River behind Keith and Maggie. We are west of Washington, DC, and eventually the river will turn into something a little less wild than it is here. We all had a great time. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Obedience Class and CGC Test | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

In October, 2001, Tami enrolled Maggie in a basic obedience class, and 10 weeks later, Maggie graduated at the top of her class. Maggie had a little head start on all the other puppies in the class, though. She was older and calmer, and Tami had been teaching her basic obedience commands ever since she first came to live with them six months earlier. The class was basically a socialization class for Maggie to help her get over her dog aggression. She was transformed into a whole different dog in class; from the first day she never showed any interest in the other dogs in class; her attention was completely on Tami. Her attendance in obedience class has paid off; Maggie's socialization skills have improved 100 percent since starting obedience class. Tami enrolled Maggie in the novice obedience class, and Maggie loves that just as much. Next step, obedience trials? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Maggie is spoiled like no other dog we've had before. For example, one spring day Tami made some Frosty Paws, a frozen doggie treat made out of 32 oz. of nonfat yogurt, 6 oz. of chicken baby food, and 1 tsp. garlic powder. Stir and freeze in 3 oz. paper cups. At right, she's licking a treat until it's softens, then she takes it in her mouth. Two crunches, and it's gone. Heaven! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
