**~The Original Shamu~**
Even to this very day SeaWorld continues to call their whales Shamu, but the true Shamu died in 1971. Shamu was actually a female that was captured in October 1965, she was captured with her mother, but as many young calves are she was seperated and sent to live at SeaWorld California.
Here are a few pictures of Shamu's capture in 1965
Later Shamu was, as many whales are, put into showbiz, but not all was so swell for him, soon after he was put into shows he was soon riden by a ldy named Annete Eckis where upon she was thrown off Shamu and was attacked with her splashing, flipper slapping and trying to bite the women as she struggled to get out of the tank where Shamu was.

It was not Shamu's fault that this horrific accident occured, but if whales hadn't have been caught and put into captivity they wouldn't get so frustrated and attack trainers and people who try to feed or ride them - this also occurs in Dolphin Petting Pools.

Shamu was left alone, she was ignored by trainers, but she was still feed. Still, she was treated like an animal with no heart, as though she had perpously tried to kill the women which is hardly true.
This was taken moments before the accident.
The name 'Shamu' is used constently to cover up orca deaths in SeaWorld Florida. Each time a whale died at SeaWorld and someone asked if Shamu died the owner of SeaWorld would reply 'No - an orca playing the role of Shamu has died, but the original Shamu still lives on' but yes Shamu died after 6 years of captivity.

The truth is the name Shamu is very familiar to the world and it brings money, if you have ever been to a SeaWorld park than you would find many items with the Shamu logo plastered on it, the name Shamu brings money thats why they keep it.

Next time you visit SeaWorld and see a whale that is being called 'Shamu' tell people that it isn't Shamu as the poor creature died of septicaemica - don't ask me what it is, it's what I found out! - Still, if people say that Shamu lives on does this give them the right not to feel sorrowful for other whales that have died or is it just 'Oh it's not Shamu so who cares' NO! It's not like that, whales deserves respect just like Shamu has done.
