-Wrestlers oversome obstackes; send three to state tournament

The Trojan wrestling team has had to leap over some high hurdles this season. Due to losing Anthony Watson and Justin Jordan to Iowa City City High, they have had to improve to make up some ground.
The Trojans are 3-1 in their conference and 8-6-1 overall. They are in fourth place in their division and in fifth place in the Mississippi Valley Conference.
Considering the things we've been through this season, I think we've done pretty well,' said Coach Steve Knipp.
The Trojans suffered two big losses to both Iowa City schools. They lost 42-18 to West and 60-9 to City High.
Even though they suffered those losses, the Trojans did something they haven't done since 1993-they beat Cedar Falls.
When asked what he thought about the team's performance this year, Brian Vaughn said, "We're on fire."
Although the team will not make it to the state tournament as a whole, Johnny Galloway, Jr. (26-0), Ryan Sallis (26-5), and Bryan Curran (23-10) all have chances going to the state tournament individually.
