Artistic talents hit
snow plows
Maria Ismael
Staff Reporter
Art club members were given the chance to expand
their artistic talents this fall when the school
gave them the opportunity to paint city snow
plows.
The art club has been around for five years, and
now consists of eleven members. Mr. Cardamon and
Mrs. Michel, both teachers in the art department,
are in charge of the organization.
The theme for the project was "Your School",
and students were free to use the school colors
and mascot.
All nine designs that the group were submitted to
the city were accepted, but due to limited time,
members were only able to finish decorating three
snow plows. Tara Doland and Maurice Johnson are
credited for creating the designs.
"We put alot of time and effort into it,"
said senior Jason Parks. And it was all worth it
once everything was finished."
The submitted designs required the color
selection so that the city could provide the
students with paint.
The snow plows were droped off in the second week
of October, and were picked up on the 29th, just
in time to be put on display at the Open House at
the City Street Department on November 1.
Challenge
"It was a difficult challenge for the
students," stated Mr. Cardamon. "But in
the end, it turned out really well."
