Remodeling for East to begin this spring

This summer East High will receive a
much needed face-lift that will continue over the
next six years.
On May 25, the community of Waterloo went to the
polls and passed the proposed 1-cent local option
sales tax.
Architects then spent eight months working with
students, staff, and members of the community
on a design solution for the building.

Long time East High teacher passes away

On Saturday, January 23, East
High staff and students suffered a tragic loss.
Ms. Alberta "Abby" Burns passed away in
her home overnight. The cause of death was
determined to be congestive heart failure.
Ms. Burns had been a teacher at East for 25 years,
working in the special needs department.

Trojans defeat West High again

The men's basketball season
at East High has been a roller coaster of
emotions. With districts starting today, the
Trojans will look to steady the ride.
The Trojans have been in a dogfight in the
Mississippi Valley Conference this season. With a
record of 5-7, East is stuck in the middle of the
pack.
