A legendary superheroine, the Black Canary fights for justice using only her superb fighting skills, and her Canary-cry, a loud shriek that can shatter glass and keep her enemies off balance. After bringing down the infamous Hawke crime family, Carolyn feared for her daughter's safety, so she left young Dinah Lance in the care of the Redmond family. A meta-human like her mother, Dinah eventually traveled to New Gotham, where she met her mother at last. The reunion was brief, as the prodigal son to the Hawke crime family, Al, struck back at the Canary. The Black Canary appeared to parish in a subsequent explosion, but this remains unconfirmed.

as Darkstrike
A hero hailing from Central City, Darkstrike has dedicated himself towards bringing down a murderer named the Crawler. Years ago, the Crawler murdered Darkstrike's fianc�e, and was later slain himself by Darkstrike. Wracked with guilt, Darkstrike took on the mental persona of Crawler himself, and would kidnap and murder young women, and send himself clues for bringing Crawler down. This continued until "Crawler" travelled to New Gotham, and Darkstrike took up with his old friend Barbara Gordon. While conferring with Huntress, Crawler emerged, and the truth was revealed. Darkstrike was subsequently defeated and taken to Arkham Asylum by Huntress.
