#404 Teenagers From Outer Space Edit #2 This moment occurs just before Derek's great escape. The "Tohtcha!" Captain returns to the ship... Captain: "Expedition Z-0-6 to base - Expedition Z-0-6 to base" Crow: I'd like to dedicate this next song to Staci back on Riegel 7" Servo (Singing): "My Huckleberry friend, Moon River and Meeeee"

Outside, Thor orders... "Guard him - I will get the straps!" And in the next scene Mort or Saul (I don't know which one is which) says... LIE DOWN!" then... "Put your hands behind you!" And really, judging by his expression, Derek seems okay with this. ��

Mort (or is it Saul?) is having difficulties with his equipment, so Saul (or is it Mort?), leaves his post to help out. With the Captain and Thor in the ship, his guards distracted, Derek sees his last clear chance...

Suddenly Saul (or Mort) notices something odd, "The hell.... What are you doing! Stop that!!"

Oh okay, I'm messing with you. Actually, Derek springs into action and starts running like a girl! The scene returns to the Captain, who is talking to the King Friday puppet head, which says... "Your orders are complete" And this is where we rejoin Joel and the Bots. Derek runs, Thor shoots the tree...

Edit #3 After Derek shows Betty the bones of Sparky the dog, there's a loooong bit of dialog that didn't make the final cut. Derek: "Betty, tell me - What is the most advanced form of transportation that you know?" Joel: "The Bart?" Servo: "Big Wheel - Pogo Stick!" Crow as Betty: "Uh, cat?" Derek seems very disappointed when he learns that our aircraft can only travel across the Earth.      Betty wonders if Derek and the others are involved with some secret weapon. Derek: "I guess I should find someone I can explain it too" Servo: "Someone who's not rock stupid you mean" Betty suggests speaking with Professor Simpson at the college. Joel: "D-OH!" Suddenly Derek averts his eyes and looks forlorn...

Betty: "What is it Derek?" Derek: "Betty - When you learn where I am from well... you may not understand but... I hope it will not make any, difference between us... because..." Betty: "I don't care where your from..." Crow: "As long as it's not Cleveland" Betty: "I don't understand all this..." Joel as Betty (Jovial): "In fact, I don't understand anything since the accident" Anyway, Betty goes on to explain that while she doesn't understand what Derek's mixed up in, she feels a special kinship with him and the two make plans to visit Professor Simpson -"D-OH!" after they stop back home to change. SUDDENLY... there's a noise! It sounds like a baby... or a lobster!      Derek: "What was that! Did you hear a sound?" Servo: "It sounded like impending fatherhood" Betty: No, only the wind" Crow as Derek: "Oh, sorry about that..." Derek figures it must have been his imagination and the two take off. Joel and the bots rejoin the movie as the swimming girl meets with, and is confronted by, Thor

Edit #4 After Gramps receives the call from Betty warning him about Thor, he scoots off for his car. Thor comes out of the door and shouts "Halt!" Gramps: "Well, what do you want, I spoke to my grand daughter... you're not getting any help from me" Servo as Thor: "I just want to know the name of that red breasted bird in the back yard!"

"Go to bed old man" Thor: "Did they return here - tell me! I have no reason to harm your grand daughter but if you do not tell me I'll... Gramps: "So you can kill Derek" Thor: Why should you care about him?" Gramps: "Why shouldn't I, why do you want to kill him?" Joel as Thor: "He stole Mike's keyboard!" Thor tries to convince Gramps that he only wants to return Derek to where he belongs -Servo: "Back to the zoo, with his other woodland friends"- and that no one need be harmed. Gramps gets flummoxed and spills the beans. Thor then orders him to drive him there.

The scene moves to reporter Tom looking for the swim party and spotting the skeleton in the pool    Tom: "Alice? Betty - Anybody here?" Servo as Tom: "Why does this always happen when I go to a party!" Tom (spotting bones): "Holy Mackerel" Joel: "Oh he's the religious type" Crow: "He worships fish?"

Next up, Cops! � In the first panel, the cop on the right says... "Do you think the tip might have been a phony Mack?" - To which Mack responds... "Don't think so Harry. The girl who called seemed to know what she was talking about" In the second panel another cop runs up between mack and Harry... "Another call Mack, Joe Rodgers, reporter on the daily news. He's on the way over; found another skeleton. (dramatic pause) Only this time at the bottom of a swimming pool!" Joel as Mack: "Maybe it was trying to get to Aunt T's place?"

Next: We see a car and then a closeup on Betty and Derek. Betty tells Derek that City Hall is just up ahead and then she whines... "Oh I hope grandpa's there waiting for us safe and sound What Betty doesn't realise is that gramps is right behind them!

Thor pulls out his raygun and takes aim. Gramps, still under the illusion that Thor only wants to incarcerate Derek, asks... "What are you doing?" Thor shouts... "Be silent, continue ahead Crow as gramps: "Bite me, space boy!" And with that gramps jerks the steering wheel and honks a warning!

Derek, alerted to the danger, parks. He tells Betty, "You stay here in the car" Servo: In the line of fire!" Derek runs, Thor runs, the cops hunker down and we return to Joel and the bots as Betty decides waiting in the car while stray bullets fly isn't such a good idea.
