After the Dr. operates on Thor and the trio make their escape. There's about a minute of dialog missing from the MSTed version.
Betty: "Derek, what was he talking about? That - that Gargon to be raised here, and you... the son of the leader? You said you didn't know your father"
Joel: "Yeah you liar!" Crow: "Now he's in for it, she going to force him to go on Doctor Phil" Derek: "I did not know the things he said - I thought they'd gone - I wanted to forget them forever! But now I know... they, plan, to return! Cue dramatic music: Boom Boom Boom Servo: "Hey gang, don't you think it might have been wise to grab Thor's lasergun while he was in la-la-land?" |
After Derek peels off, we cut to Joe, walking towards his car. Mack the cop is following behind and calls out...
Mack: "Hey, wait a minute, I'm going with you!" Joe: "Where?" Mack: "To the old mine shaft" Joe: "How did you hear about that?" Mack: "The old fellow inside - He's been telling us every thing he can think of.." Servo: "His adventures as one of Teddy Roosevelt's rough riders" Crow: "How he had to walk 20 miles barefoot in the snow to school when he was a kid" Joel: "How underwear works, man he won't shut up" Joe tells Mack to hop in and he voices hope that something will turn up out there. The scene cuts back to Thor at the Doctors and this is where we resume the riffing with J&TB |
Edit #6After Mack is eaten in the cave and Thor drives off the edge off the cliff and the Nurse is comforted by Joe. We are shown a newspaper, with the shadow of a claw. The headline speaks of Thors incarceration.Next; a newscaster who tells us that Thor is being held at General Hospital, soon to be transferred to City Jail "Where he will be tried in Peoples Court" - Servo" and that his weapon was not located. He continues...  ��� ��� Newsman: "Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of a man eating beast, said to have been in an abandoned mine shaft outside the City Limits" "Starring Kim Cattrall" - Crow We are then shown newsreel shots of flashlight beams dancing across the mine shaft walls "Emmitt Kelly's missing!" - Joel and we are informed that police found evidence that a monster of some sort had been shackled there but had somehow gained strength enough to pull itself loose and escape. "Like Hercules Unchained... except with a lobster... who ate a cop named Mack... but otherwise it's completely like Hercules Unchained" - Servo After the reporter reports that volunteers are hunting the beast, we return with Joel, Crow and Servo as Derek and Betty search for Thors weapon. |

Servo: Derek's holding a press conference at the Rose Garden"
Crow doing Nixon: "My fellow Americans, I am not a Krog" The TV is shown again and the report warns of the rampaging Gargon. This brief scene was edited out of the MST version: Betty: "Derek, they say it's coming. It has grown... Joel: "Oh, wow" Betty: "It's just northeast of town - I better wake up grandpa, we'll all go down to the cellar" |
Derek: "You go there with him...
Crow: "I wont be seen with the old fart until he takes off that stupid tin foil hat!" Derek: "There is a chance I can do something yet" Betty: "What, what are you looking at?" The scene shifts to a shot of power lines Derek: "Those wires, going from pole to pole. They carry the source of energy used for illumination and power in the homes!" Joel (doing hick voice): "Tarnation Derek, thems a whole lotta words for simple 'lectricity!" Betty: "You mean, you might be able to make the disintegrator work by hooking it too..." Derek: "Possibly, if the power were great enough. It's the only chance, I've got to try it" Betty: "I can help Derek, I'm going with you!" With these words we return as Gramps wanders outside, yawning and wondering what's going on. |
Our final cut: Derek has just kidnapped Joe at Ray-Gun point and Betty/Gramps are left behind...
Gramps: "Derek seemed like such a nice fellow" J&TB: "At first" Betty: "Grandpa, he promised me something. He promised he would never leave, that he would never go back. I don't beleive he wants to break his promise to me... Crow as Gramps: "Betty, you're living in a world of self inflicted delusion" Betty: "I think I know where he's going, out by the old mine. I wanna go there. I wanna see him once more" Gramps: "Hasn't he hurt you enough Betty" Joel as Betty: "Not quite" And with that Gramps and Betty get into the car - we are then shown Joe and Derek pull up to General Hospital and the rest... is history. |
