| When we were ministering at the college campus my MIG and I (Emily, Katie, Leah and me) did the drama and then went and talked to a nineteen-year-old girl named Suzana. She had already been saved but it wasnt a lifestyle for her. We got to talking to her, and encouraged her to rededicate her life to the Lord. She decided that it was a sign that we came and chose to talk to her out of all the people in the audience She was too ashamed to walk to the front to Angela in front of everyone. She had also been thinking about starting to live for Jesus, so it was no coincidence that we talked to her. Later that day, at the next drama site, we received a letter from her. She expressed how thankful she was, and how much we meant to her. It was such an awesome experience. Also-the day we only did one drama and then prayed with the church. Ive never been a part of miraculous healings. When the one mans leg miraculously grew I was amazed. I knew all along that God was gonna heal him, but knowing and seeing are two different things. This has definitely been the best two weeks of my life! Amanda The one day we went to the church where we healed people, a girl about sixteen years old made us al something to eat. She kept looking at me and smiling and I took a translator over to talk to her with me. Then, before I left, she ran up to me and tried to tell me something. I couldnt understand her Spanish, so she made the motions I ? U. Then she took my hand and placed her only bracelet in it. Then she kissed me on the cheek. It was so cool! Elizabeth One of my Kodak moments would definitely have to be about the little Peruvian kids. It amazes me how these little kids can be so loving and accepting. I think it was our third ministry day at the place with the big sound system. There were tons of kids who literally hung on to us as we were walking. We did our drama and my MIG and I went out to play with the kids. We prayed with all of them and explained to them just how much Jesus loves each and every one of them. There must have been about fifty kids there that day. After praying with all of them I wanted to play a game with them to entertain them. I had a translator with me so I knew that I would be able to teah them a game. I decided to try to teach them Duck, Duck Goose but the only problem was that I didnt know how to say those words in Spanish. So I called the game Dog, Dog, Cat The kids caught on to them game really fast. It made me feel so good just to see all of thr joy that all those kids had. God really gave me a heart for the kids on this trip. I had the best time teaching all of them a little about Jesus and also showing them that I care enough to stay and play with them. So that is just one of my Kodak moments that truly touched my life. I will never forget those little kids faces. I thank God that He allowed me to bring all of those kids a little joy while the whole time they were blessing me more than I can express. Katie Honestly and truly there was no one Kodak moment. Between all the salvations and healings, there is no specific best moment. Having read through my journal, recalling all of the events of the mission, I had come to a conclusion as to which was my Kodak moment. The Kodak moment that I chose does not have anything to do with healings even though those were amazing. I absolutely loved bringing joy to all the children. I have never seen so many smiles. They were happy at the pure thought that we were Americans! I have never seen kids so intrigued with bubbles. At first when you start blowing bubbles, they were unsure what to do. I would show them that they could pop them. And the sooner that the bubbles came off the stick, they were popping them. Then you would hold the stick up to their face and say Sobla! And sure enough, they would blow, making bubbles of their own! Then they all wanted to do it. After bubbles, it was usually time to leave. At one specific ministry site, where we performed the drama two times, our MIG, Katie, Leah, Steve and I taught the kids how to play duck, duck, goose, only we didnt know how to say duck or goose in Spanish, so we made it dog, dog, cat. It was amazing how we communicated with the children even though they dont know English and we only know a little Spanish. But overall, they loved the game. Just the thought of bringing joy and hope into their lives was so fulfilling and totally worth going on the trip! Thanks everyone for being such great people and a great team! -Loryn |
