Wicca 101

Alright, I can't necessarily tell you what Faery Wicca is unless you know what Wicca is. The two go hand in hand, but I won't delve too deeply into what wicca is, just the basics.

For someone whose new to the metaphysical scene let me start off with the difference between Paganism and Wicca. Paganism encompases all 'earth religions'. Beliefs such as all the forms of wicca, druid faith, and just about everything you could've gotten killed for believing in 500 years ago.

With that said, lets talk wicca. I'm an eclectic faery wiccan so some die-hard straight and narrow wiccans may disagree (everyones entitled to their own belief, I'm merely stating mine) with some things I say. Wicca is a belief in aligning your energy in harmony, whatever you give you recieve in abundance, a way of living your life right, not eating tuna to save the dolphins, yadda yadda yadda. As I said, I'm only going to give you a gist, just enough for you to understand faery wicca.

I have some links to wicca only sites that are much more informative on just wicca. So check those out later if your wanting more on just it. Most wiccans believe in the goddess Dana and some believe in her plus some other gods/goddesses. I don't really acknowledge Dana, nor do I acknowledge a god of gods or vice versa female version. What I do acknowledge is some crone goddesses. I'll talk further about that in faery wicca sections. I can't tell you much about the wiccan gods and goddesses since they never seemed right for me. Oh and I suppose I should tell you the symbol of wiccans is a star with five points encircled. Most of us wear it as a neckless so others of our beliefs can know we're one in hopes of finding someone we can communicate with about the belief and whatever. Some of us who are affraid of persecution wear it inside our shirts. But the main reason most of us wear it is as a form of protection against unwanted energy or beings for that matter.

Each point on the star represents a direction, element, and purpose. Starting at the top and working clockwise, the top point represents Spirit, the next is North, East, South, and West. I talk about these directions and there purpose more deeply in Elements. However I will mention Spirit here. The elusive element Spirit encompases all the directions and is aligned to them in harmony. Very few people are attuned to Spirit, in fact I've only met one during my time in the metaphysical scene.

The circle around the star represents the cycle of all things in unity. Life, Death, Rebirth. Or in the case of Faery Wiccans: Life, Death, Dreamscape, Rebirth. I'm sure you already know what Life and Death is, but I'll going over Dreamscape and Rebirth. The Dreamscape is one of many names for it. Alot of Faery Wiccans call it Tir Nan Og (an elven realm), Christians call it Heaven, Metaphysicians call it the Astral Plane, and Disney calls it Never-Never Land. I personally call it the Dreamscape, cause in all actuality thats what it is. A place of 'Dreams'. I talk alot more about it in The Dreamscape. Anyway in this part of the cycle we visit the Dreamscape to review all we have learned in this life and in our previous ones. We take with us into the next life all the lessons we learned.
