I was out of school when I got Zeus but if I were still in school, I know he would eat my homework. He eats everything else! Tennis shoes he loves. The newer, the better! One week I think I bought 4 harnesses because he chewed through them. Did I mention the collars that he's destroyed?

Superbowl 39 marks Zeus's 1st birthday. I'm hoping with age, he'll grow out of his chewing stage. If not, I'll just have to keep things out of his reach.

Zeus is a perfect example of how socializing your dog can be well worth your time. I don't think this spunky 1 year old has met an enemy yet besides our two tom cats and that's just nature! Some people misunderstand him because Zeus barks if you do not pet him. At the local pet store, he expects for passersby to acknowlege his presence and reward him for being cute with attention.

The children at my mom's daycare love him too. In the morning, they are usually greeted with a kiss from a puppy that is ready to share love. In fact, it's hard to escape his kisses because they're coming before you have a chance to turn your head. Also, a friend often comments how Zeus shares loves by rubbing up against him. This friend is Zeus's favorite source of rough housing which he can't get enough.

As a general rule, Miniture Pinschers are not known to be great with children. However, it is our experience that they can be wonderful! Both of of minpins love the daycare children and are loved by the daycare children. The difficulty lies in protecting the minpins when they are puppies. They have extremely small bones and can be broken easy. They are easy to step one if you are not looking or if children are running around. Also, these dogs can jump up high and land from high distances on their own but can't land from the same distances if they are dropped. Children have to learn how to behave around these dogs and the dogs have to learn to respect the children.
