| There
was more than one person that we prayed for to be healed from deafness. The first
one was very touching. Here is Melody's version of the story... "I believe it was on a Thursday afternoon. My team and I went to a church that was supposed to be just a bunch of little kids. There was one older guy and I thought that he just worked there. "Well, after we did 2 little skits we went into are ministry groups and got 3 kids each to tell a Bible story to. The older guy was in our group. I thought this would be interesting. "We were sitting there telling the story of Jonah and the whale. The way the guy was talking didn't sound right. I worked with deaf kids and MR kids for the past 2 years. I told my mig leader, Matt, that I thought he was deaf. Some little girl came up to me and said he was deaf. "He couldn't hear. I was like, "O my!" because I knew sign language, but I was nervous. But Matt was like, "Go ahead! Go ahead!" So I was like, "Ok." And I was talking to him in SIgn Language and I was so happy because I don't know Spanish and Sign Language is a Universal language. "Every one was gathering around me and I mean I was so getting used by God. It was awesome because I was the only one that knew how to speak Sign Language. Then I told him that I was going to say something in his ear and I wanted him to repeat it in Sign Language. "I said Jesus and he did it in Sign Language! By the time we left, he could hear not all the way but he was healed!! "So I just praise God because I didn't think at all that I would need to speak Sign Language and God used my Sign Language. That was just one of a lot of things that happened in Panama 2001." |
